B2601 Experience with 60” Mower

Looking for experience using a B2601 with the 60” mower. Looking to replace a B7500 with 54” mower and loader at my Moms. I am wondering whether to go with the B2601 or a LX2620. Both have same HP but the LX has bigger engine with more torque. My B2920 has more power so hard to compare to. I don’t want to wish we had bought more tractor to run the mower. I mow 2-1/2 acres of lawn with lots of hills and obstacles. Absolutely no desire for a zero turn so please don’t recommend it, just looking for owners experience of these models.

I have b2601 with 60” mmm, run it at 2200rpm and it cuts great. Doesn’t bog down cutting 8”-12” grass on 2 acre field. Around the house I use my zero turn

I have a B2601 with 60" mower. I've never had problems mowing - I typically mow in H and as fast as my back can tolerate. I don't go up and down a huge number of hills, but unless you're mowing very, very thick or wet grass while driving up hill, I don't think you'll have a problem. If you mow in M (which is what is recommended), I think you'll be fine in all situations.

My B2601 generally goes fine when in mowing configuration - I don't have a lot of issues with power. With loader on and weight box on the back, without mower, it still bogs down a bit up steep hills even on tarmac (when in H). I think that'd be true of any tractor though.

I have no problems mowing, with my B and 60 inch deck, I have to run in low range due the hills here in the coal country, and that deck will grind up anything that gets in the blades,, oh yeah run it WOT and sharp blades you wont be sorry,,, NOW just MHO, stay away from the R4 tires, they are skid steer tires and harder than an old whores heart! Slip on wet grass!!! And you might want to think about a set of wheel spacers, I put 2 inch spacers on and it made her a lot more stable on the hills

Thanks everyone. As far as tires Skeets, I would be getting turf tires and put chains on in the winter. I agree, R4 tires are designed for industrial use, not tractors. I always mow in M with my B2920, which is plenty fast enough. It’s great to hear that the B2601 can do the same, I was a little concerned wether it would have power enough with less HP than the 2920.
