B26 Mechanical Spill Guard?

Hi everyone, long time reader first time poster. Love your forum and the wealth of information its provided me. A friend is looking at buying a 2013 b26 tlb. We went to look at it the other day, and he's ready to buy it but he had a few questions we were talking over and I was thought you guys could shed some light on it.

He had read all '13-'14 b26s came with the mechanical spill guard, and he was wondering if this is something he could disable because he believes it would slow down the loader operation. I didn't know what it would take to disable this feature or if it would be something he would even want to do.

No you can't disable it it's built into the design.
Why would you want too.
And I don't think it should "slow him down"
It is a B tractor after all, so your not moving a ton!

Funny, i wish i had something like that on the tractor at work, dumped snow on the hood too many times to count. Not to mention the damage if its something harder than snow.

I am with Wolfman, WHY would you want to disable it ? And how does it slow you down? As a small dent in the hood - first 5 hours screw up, I wished it came standard, freaking brilliant idea! Might be a reason to BUY it, just to have it !

I was wondering if I could put that on my b3200. The new 2650 and 3350 have it as an option. Wonder if it would fit my loader.

No you can't add the mechanical spill guard to a different loader, it's a different way of setting up the roll rams and bucket attachment.
I have it on my woods loader and love it, you scoop and lift and that's it, it rolls the bucket out as you lift to keep it from continuing to roll back and dump on the hood.

I never got a good explanation of what the spill guard was from my dealer so I did not consider it. If it wasn't too expensive I probably would have gotten it. Don't know if it's simply a linkage modification but it seems like a good idea.

If I was planning to do a lot of loader work I would probably prefer it.
