B26 - About to purchase - Updates coming?

Hello,

So there is some information about potential updates to the 2019 B2601 but no one can find anything written online about it.

I believe the B26 has been out for over 10 years now but I cannot find anything online that references revisions or changes throughout those years.

Anyway I really like the B26 but if an update is likely for 2019 or 2020 I will hold off and wait for that.

Anyone have any insight or guesses?

Why? Because every day you don't have that machine is another day of doing it the hard way!

Most of us regret NOT getting tractor years before we actually did! And once the machine was bought - thought how in the hell did I get done what I got accomplished without it!

You may want to consider this, my local Kubota dealer told me recently that all tractor prices are going up 4% as of 1 March 2019.

Kubota already made their 2019 announcements last year...so there is nothing now. If you want it, get it.

What updates would you want to wait for? Anything would be minor and not affect its performance. In fact it could go the other way and some obscure regulation could make it less desirable.
The sooner you get it the sooner you will have another hand to help you.

The B26 is a nice machine, but's there's nothing on it that had me wanting to update/upgrade my 2007 B21 when they came out in 2008. Tractors aren't like computers or other things. We buy them to do a job that doesn't really change over time, i.e. move dirt. You'll be very happy with your purchase and the work it allows you to do for many years to come. My $.02 FWIW.

I should also mention I almost bought a B26, so I did a ton of research and demoing of the machine. It is a real workhorse, no frills machine. It lacks the HST+ transmission and the creeper controls that the L47/M62 have. There is a so a flow bypass that you can enable on the bigger brothers to stop hydraulic flow to the BH when not in use (cools pump). Other than that not much difference if I remember.

I do recommend the hydraulic thumb if you can swing it. It has so many uses...especially if you dont plan on 3rd function on the front and need to grab lighter objects. Plucking fence posts and small trees out of the ground is fun as well.

All good advice. I can't see it getting any cheaper anytime soon and as others have said you'll be wondering how you ever did without it. Also remember it's not like buying a car or truck, you won't take a big loss on it if you plan to keep it for a while.

Dealers can and have “ordered” them already, but have no idea yet when they will come in because the delivery status in their/Kubota’s system is not filled in yet.
They are calling them the Dash One’s, like B2601-1, Maybe that’s common knowledge I dunno.

If you are referring to a B26 as the B2601 then I've heard elsewhere that the B2601 may get the one piece hydraulic quick connect for the 4 loader hoses to the loader valve and a way to engage the loader park stand from the seat, just like the new bxs. The "quick park" feature. I have a B2601 and it takes about 2 minutes and 13 seconds to remove the loader and that includes getting off the seat to engage the park stands and disconnect 4 hoses.

It really is not a chore at all and I could easily live with having to get off of the seat from time to time. After all this isn't a fully hands free setup that you will find on a $90,000 skidsteer. You'd still have to get off the machine to change loader attachments and work the 2 quick connect levers. Also, if you ever get a 3rd function kit to run a grapple, etc. then you will still have to get off of the seat to disconnect those hoses as I highly doubt Kubota will include a 6 hose quick coupler for factory 3rd function kits.

Also, once those new models do come around perhaps a dealer might be a little more workable to get rid of the "old" model B2601. But if those prices are going to increase 4% then it may not matter anyway. Just a thought. But personally, I wouldn't wait. I've been inventing new uses for mine since the day I got it and my back has never felt better.

Side note, I bought mine "used" with 4 hours on it from a private seller. Saved myself nearly $1,400 in tax and got forks and a rear blade as well. It took 4 months of scouring Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist but it paid off. Best of luck with your decision.

Thanks for the help everyone. Yes I saw the 2019 updates but I guess no insight on the 2020. The 2 things I really want is creep and a hair more room for turn as I will be getting it cabbed.

Currently rocking the BX23s, 750 hours on it, never taken the loaded off even to mow. I am using it for residential work and light duty commercial but the loader is taking a beating and I want a stronger hoe for trenching.

The L47 is just too big for about 1/3 of the jobs I do and too small to sub in as an AG tractor. Long term plan is a B26 and an M62. The M62 could also run my haying equipment which would be big plus. To dream.

I must be missing something. From the Kubota site, the 2601 comes with the 434 loader and the BH70 hoe. The 2650 comes with the 534 Loader (much stronger) and the BH77 hoe (again bigger and stronger). The 2650 has a factory cab which I hear has great fitment and is better than most aftermarket add on cabs for other models. So if you need a stronger loader, bigger hoe, and a cab, I'd still recommend at least looking into the B2650. From what you've posted, it sounds like a better fit for what you want. Of course, if you're set on the 2601, it's a fine machine and should do what you need it to.

Check carefully on the M62 for haying equipment. It isnt an ag tractor, but there are a few that use them on farms (check on TBN). I am curious how they hold up to pulling and running haying equipment. While HSTs care capable, I dont know if HST in this HP range is.

The B2601 is workhouse for it's size, the FEL disconnect is quick & effective.
If you find a good deal on a B2601 grab it.
My only regret is not getting her sooner.

Not sure if some of these posts are confusing a B series tractor with a "B" TLB. They certainly are not the same. The loader on a B-26 is not detachable (at least, not easily). The hoe uses the same type of 4 pt connection to the tractor, but the hoe on the B-26 is a different animal when compared to those used on an 01, or 50 series.

Additionally, a cabbed b2650 uses a hoe (Bh77) with it's own seat. The B-26 uses a swivel seat.

The first post stated B2601 so I was comparing the B2601 with loader and backhoe to the B2650 with loader and backhoe. He had stated he wanted it cabbed, so the backhoe would have to have it's own seat either way. I hope I didn't confuse the issue. Dirtydeed is correct, the the TLB series is a whole different animal.
