Hi all. I am a soon-to-be first-time-ever new Kubota owner, but am torn between the B2301 and B2601. We will have 8 acres, mostly flat to slightly hilly grassland but a little rough in places. We plan on getting the MMM, FEL and probably a 60" Land Pride brush hog. My question - is the difference (2 HP @ PTO / ~4 HP engine) in HP all that critical, given that it will mostly be used for mowing with the occasional fun job for the FEL?

Appreciate your advice and insights.

I can't really answer your question but I can say a few more HP never hurts and I am very happy with my new B2601!
I figured for the minimal up-charge I would have to work the same size machine a little less with the extra HP.
Best of luck with your decision.

Welcome to OTT from Alabama. With 8 acres, I would go with a L series which is what the dealer talked me into and I am sure glad he did. In fact there have been times I could have use even more HP.

When I had a B7500 I occasionally used a 5' rotary cutter. If I had to use a cutter that size with any regularity, I'd definitely want a heavier tractor.
