I haven't pulled the trigger yet the B2601 for various reasons/issues that happened over the summer. Long story short, I got on Kubota's website yesterday to check on current finance rates/promos going on. I noticed that they are offering 0% for 84 months on B2301 series (NOT B2601) until the first of the year...so now I am intrigued if I really would need the 26hp or not?

Extra HP is nice and appreciated when your running large mower's/ground engaging work...I get that. But as far as lift capacity/hydralic pressures/capability, the B2301 would essentially handle everything that the 26hp brother can, right?

This new promo offer just has me rethinking if one would be better off saving money and buying more attachments, all while taking advantage of the 0%. With a cheaper payment due to 84 months, one could also double up each month to pay off quicker.

So what is everyone's take on this new promo offer from Kubota?

you're correct on the capacities/hydraulic pressures. They would be the same for both machines. I don't think there is any other difference in those two machines besides the engine.

Wasn't that the current offer from Kubota? Maybe it was for 72 months instead?

Anyway, my recommendation would be to get the machine you really want/need vs the finance term length. If that happens to be a 23 hp machine, great. 23 hp is plenty to run a 5 foot finish mower unless you're trying to mow foot tall grass.

You may wish to consider that the 23 horsepower unit is probably simpler. Tractors above 25 horsepower (or is it 25.5?) are required to have additional pollution control devices. I went with the L2501 over the L3301 for that reason. I had a diesel particulate filter on a diesel pickup. If it works it's fine. If it quits working it gets real expensive real fast and the computer controls the vehicle, you don't.

FWIW - the B2601 does not have a DPF. No extra emissions crap to deal with on that machine.

The current offers from Kubota for a B2601 are as follows:
1) 0% A.P.R. for 60 Months with 0% Down
2) 0.99% A.P.R. for 72 Months with 0% Down
3) 1.99% A.P.R. for 84 Months with 0% Down

The current special offers from Kubota if you go with a B2301 are as follows:
1) 0% Financing for 84 Months on B2301 Tractors (offer ends 01/01/2020)
2) $129 Monthly Payment for B2301 with R14 Tires (0% APR, 84 months, 20% Downpayment)

Originally back in the spring when I was looking to purchase, the rates I was looking at were either the 0% for 60, or they offered 1.9% for 72 with 10% down...it looks like the 72 month option has gotten better and requires zero down...so that is better for sure

The B2601 actually falls below the HP tier requirements, so it does not have any of the pollution control

I guess I am just thinking that if one can save $1000 up front by going with the B2301 and not have an extra $25+ month in interest over 6-7 years, that adds up in the end...the extra attachments with the money saved seems like smarter move, but maybe Im wrong? Just curious what everyones opinion is

I have the B2601 very happy with it.. The size is a little bigger than 2301 tires , height etc. for the little extra cost my wife wanted the extra PTO 3hp bought so I wouldn't regret smaller needing to go back. I'm mostly using mowing with 60" MMM its an animal in grass.

I watched the GP outdoors YouTube big factor

I had a B7500 about the same hp as a B2301 with a LA302 loader and loved that tractor and it had plenty of power for its 54" deck and I'm sure the 60" as well. But I'd get the one you really want. What little extra the 2601 costs you'd probably recoup on resale and if it's a B2601 and you need to finance it spread it over 5 years at 0% and be done with it. Seems like many who finance opt for Kubota insurance and that isn't cheap, I don't think I'd want to pay that insurance premium for 5 years much less 7.

I have the B2320 and use a 5' finish pto mower and it pulls a 5' box blade with no issues. But nobody ever said "Gee, I wish I had a smaller tractor".
So buy the one you think you will be happy with as long as the payments to not strap you financially.

If you can afford to pay off quicker than 84 months, then you could get 60 months 0% interest on the 2601 instead. No interest, pay it off quicker. :)

The only things that a B2601 will do better are things that use the PTO. Anything hydraulic or that relates to traction will be identical. But running a hoe, a chipper, a mower, a snowblower you may notice the 3hp. Usually there's not much difference in price, so I'd say always get the B2601. Presumably the special deal is because they're not selling as many of them as they thought - which might be a sign to take notice of.

I think the B2601 resale will hold better, but I have no evidence for that.

It really comes down to your affordability. If you can afford the B2601, then I'd buy it. But if you can't afford it, then yeah, a B2301 is a great idea.

I'm thinking the 2 years extra on B2301 might help push some Backhoes too $7500.00 added divided by 84 months is a wash over 5 years even a little less payment per month.

At 0 for 60m you arent saving a penny between the machines. If you can afford the 60m payment I would go with the B2601.

I have a B2601 and I absolutely love it. There was a 2301 sitting next to it. I couldn't really tell much of a difference. Does your dealer have both on location to try each unit out.

To the OP, thanks....you got me shopping B2x01’s now...geez. [emoji3064]

I really should have looked harder at B vs BX years ago.

Love my BX, but more and more it can’t quite do what I wish it could/would do.

I did some B shopping few years ago, but it didn’t make sense for a trade of my BX (probably better said “cents”).

I was actually looking at keeping the BX for mowing and snow blowing, and just adding the B for FEL and dirt work, which I’m doing much more of lately. It does have some merit.

Many times I’ve thought I should have just bit the bullet first go-round. [emoji15]

IÂ’m brand new to tractors and the Kubota brand, but have inked a deal on the promo for the B2301. I think it boils down to the application. I looked at the BX2380, and the BX23S, and had a good conversation with a very patient dealer. Like quite a few other new buyers, there were so many details that I didnÂ’t have a handle on until I saw the tractors in person. We have about an acre of property, with very little grass here in Tucson. Mower decks are not a concern. A BX2380 likely would have met my needs. But due to the work we wanted to do in digging up rock, trenching, drainage (when we get rain, roads can wash out) cactus removal, landscaping, general maintenance and material handling, the BX23S (the only BX model with a backhoe) looked like a great option.

Like many other guys, I envision that I wanted the M series along with that extra boost of testosterone. My wallet advised me otherwise. The sheer size of the M and L with attachments factored in would be hard to maneuver under mesquite trees, and next to the house. The M and L series were obviously overkill for my property. But for me, I >wanted< something bigger. When I looked at the BX (series) next to the B2301, the B2301 stood just a little taller, with a little more ground clearance. It had beefier wheels and front axle. The specs were slightly better, but it was >small< enough to maneuver around my smaller property. And, due to the promo financing and a dealer price special, it was only 10% more expensive to get the B2301, hoe, and other attachments as compared to an equally equipped BX23S plus similar attachments.

In my case, the 84mos 0% financing made the B2301 purchase more palatable to the wife. The 2601 did not have the special promo of 0% for 84mos. Sure, I will pay more for the Kubota insurance over time, but will I miss that 3-4 extra HP for what we need it for? Probably not.

We donÂ’t plan on moving, so the size we picked should meet our needs into the future.

I was in the same situation you are in a few weeks ago and decided on the B2601. I probably could have gotten away with the B2301 with some negotiating, it only cost me $1000 more. Personally I was not too focused on the monthly payments or how I could save $25.00 month. If that was the case maybe I should not be buying a new tractor. I went with the 0% for 60 months and put down some money. Plan to pay mine off in two years, but that's just my situation. I have no regrets and would probably get the B2601 again plus it seems to be more popular for resale. Good luck!
