Hi, this is my first ever tractor. I have a bit of a hydraulic leak and am quite handy was wondering if anyone could walk me through on what the fix could be. I’ve attached a photo of where the leak is directly underneath tractor out of that upper shaft it seems

First, clean that disgusting mess off of your tractor so you can actually see where the oil is leaking from.
Once it is clean enough to see the origin of the leak and actually repair it, run the tractor and make sure the leak is not the rubber plug right above the output shaft. I replace more of the plugs than the seal.
You can see the plug in your picture.

Welcome to the forum.

Good advice from whitetiger above.

But I noticed a few other things in your picture to be curious about so added some highlights to it.
1) What is rubbing the shaft so hard to make it shine? (Green)
2) is there something broken or missing on the shaft? (Yellow)
3) Where whitetiger is saying the rubber plug is located.

Awesome thanks. I had pulled that collar back on what I believe is PTO shaft that’s why it’s shiny. And I do believe it’s coming from the rubber plug. Does the plug just pop out with a screw driver and pop new one in? And do either of you know a part number for the rubber plug? Appreciate the help. I will also be cleaning it up I just picked it up this fall cheap but new there was a hydraulic leak.

The plug part number is 6A100-12180.
Yes, it pops right out using a screwdriver, and the new one will need to be pushed or driven in. You can start it by hand and lightly tap around the outer flange with a small hammer. Do not drive, hit, or push on the center part of the plug.
