I have a B20 that the nut on the fourth shaft backed off and it was stuck in low range. We split the transmission and fixed that but it did it again within a few minutes of running. Does this nut need to be peened in place? Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Did you reuse the same nut?
I would get a new nut, use loctite on the threads and tighten to spec.
