I have an older B20 with a rod through the block. Got a new motor, ready to install after I get the old one out.
Everything is unbolted and I've been trying to separate the motor and transmission. I got it about 3/4" and noticed the flange on the motor side hits the front subframe.
My question is, do I disconnect the transmission mount and Jack up the whole thing before sliding the motor forward or loosen the subframe? No I don't have a service manual and don't have the money right now to get one.
Thanks

That's not the subframe, it's the frame, and yes you need to drop it and the front axle to remove the engine. ;)

Do you still have the backhoe attachment on this tractor? If not, I'd be interested in purchasing the rear subframe. I can also provide the exact replacement parts to convert your tractor to a factory three point hitch, which is nice because the backhoe "tray" won't get in your way when using other implements. The hitch parts from a B2150 bolt right on in place of the subframe.

Thanks,
