I was merrily pushing snow with my B20 when the headlights went dark and the engine shut down. It restarted 2 minutes later, so I finished and parked. Upon return for more fun, here's what I have and don't have:
Working: starter, glow plug indicator (so I'm assuming the plugs are heating), rear flashing lights
Not working: headlights, dash idiot lights, fuel shutoff selenoid
Methinks it's an odd combination of what's working and what's not.
Can a dead fusible link do this?
A dead Starter Timer Relay?
Another fuse?
The ignition switch itself?

Solved!
Found a diagram and, based on that, a bundle of four glass tube fuses in in-line holders, one 15A of which looked fine in its window but had some melted solder at one end. Replaced it and all the dead stuff came alive.
I used a standard yesteryear (i.e., not one of the spaded, color coded ones found in later equipment) automotive 15A fuse. That OK?

Should be fine, as long as it's rated for 32 volts, like an AGC series Buss brand fuse. There actually is a difference between an AGC and a fuse rated for 250 volts, like those you find in an AC powered equipment, mostly to do with how the element inside blows, to prevent arcing inside the fuse.
