B20 4wd

Hello!!

Just trying to get some insight I to the 4wd system on my 1994 I think b20. It keeps slipping out of 4wd. If you hold it in sounds like grinding.

Is there hopefully a wear part that's easy to replace? Common problem?
Can't find much information anywhere online.

Welcome!
There isn't, to my knowledge, an engineered wear part, in the system, that is designed for easy replacement. It sounds like a worn or damaged gear- you'll need to tear into the transmission.

That's what I didn't want to hear... Dam!
Was hoping it was a spline collar or something in one of the shafts but I checked them. All solid.

Would you think I could find a replacement gear for this or should I look at a replacement transmission?

Finding a replacement gear will be much easier and cheaper than the entire transmission!

Does anyone have a way to find a breakdown schematics of the transmission/ engagement gears?
