First tractor here and I am trying to get some of the vitals changed out. Oil, and fuel filter not a problem, should you change the o-ring when you change the fuel filter?

The trany lists 4 bolts to drain the tranny but states to only remove one at the bottom of the tranny. The mauel says there is one on the front mission case, and 3 on the rear mission case, one at the lower PTO shaft, and one one on each side of the case, just behind the filter. Should a guy open all of them and drain them? Also I know there is a strainer you should take out when replacing the fluid, anything else when changing the tranny fluid? What to put back in?

Anything else maintenance wise to look at doing to the tractor. I just bought it so I want to update everything so I can get back on my schedule...also the previous owner I don't belive was great at maintenance.

Is there a tear down, or technical manual that can be gotten for this model still that tells everything about it and how to fix it?

Thanks for all your help, I'm sure I will have lots more questions.

Sounds like you have a good handle on it. Yes take all the drains out of the tranny. For simplicity use Kubota oil in the tranny. It is good quality and you can't go wrong using it. Change the o-ring on the fuel filter too. Who knows when it was changed last. Change both you hydrostatic and hydraulic filters.
You might want to do the front axle too. I am not sure about yours but there may be 3 plugs to drain but maybe only 2 if your outboard hubs are part of the main axle case, I would use gear oil in the front axle but that is my preference. There is usually lots of opinions on this one
Enjoy, not a hard job.
