I've had my B1550 HST since new. Recently the tractor has issues with the fluid in the crankcase growing and spewing out of the breather tube. At the same time it's losing hydraulic fluid with no visible leaks. The Kubota service department claims that due to the tractor having a dry clutch it's impossible for hydraulic fluid to enter the crankcase. They have replaced the rings & the lift pump but that has not affected my problem at all. Any guidance or suggestions?

If your hydraulic pump runs off the gear by the injector pump, a bad seal on the hydraulic pump will dump hy-tran oil into your crankcase.

Interesting issue. I looked over the web for the issue as you described it and found no other question or complaint about hydro oil in the crankcase on any 1500 Kubota. (Nor other BX series Kubota).

Vacula,
It's a B not a BX, two completely different design of tractors.

The hydraulic pump is at the rear & is shaft driven
Jgregan,
Your hydraulic pump is on the back of the injection pump and is driven by the fuel cam, as bucktail pointed out you have a blown seal on the hydraulic pump and it's pumping hydraulic fluid into the motor.

Thanks, replaced the seal & the o-rings while I had the pump off. Issue solved.

FYI you need to find another Kubota dealer to do your service! They should be ashamed of themselves for not knowing that.

Wow, I read this, "The Kubota service department claims that due to the tractor having a dry clutch it's impossible for hydraulic fluid to enter the crankcase. You need to notify the principle owners of that dealership. Let them know the service you got, the charges they made to your account, and what they told you about it being impossible for the hyd. fluid to get in the crankcase. Then what the solution was, and how you found it, and you fixed it.

That is horrendous for a dealership service department!!

I was referring to the Kubota service tech reading the manual.
But I am sure some of them have posted under cover questions here.
AWWW... Got YA, I was on the consumer side of thinking. :D
