Looking for some advice here. I have a B1500 compact tractor recently restored so in decent condition. Now when I engage the gear, lift the clutch and apply revs nothing happens until there is a clunk or twang like something releasing and the tractor drives forwards. Sounds like it is coming from the clutch side rather than brakes sticking on. Any ideas? Tractor has been stored inside but in damp winter conditions here in uk which may be relevant

Thanks

Is it a D (gear drive) or HST (hydrostatic drive)?

I think geared by your statements.

About the only thing that I can think of is that you have a sticking pressure plate or a sticking throwout bearing, or possibly binding sticking linkage.

I would start with the linkage, checking everything out first, then your going to have to split it to get into the clutch.

If you get it apart and nothing looks obvious, suspect the pressure plate is damaged.

Thanks can anyone help how to adjust the clutch on these compact tractors? Feels like something not quite engaging

Cheers

If you store your tractor without using it for more then say a month (especially in humid conditions), it would be wise to get a block of wood and set it so the clutch peddle is pressed down and held there. This keeps the clutch disc from becoming attached to the pressure plate by the humidity in the air.

Sadly there is no WSM (aka service manual) available for that tractor.

You can post some pictures of the linkage and we might be able to tell you what you need to adjust if anything.
