Congratulations on the new addition! That is some cute puppy pictures, his feet look huge in the first one though!

Bill
His parents were both West german Sieger line dogs / they were both big.

My other male (Henry) is from the same lines.... He is 5 years old and 107Lbs.

My dog Rainee passed away on Friday, January 9th. She was a rescue 10 years ago of unknown age and was a wonderful dog who had a really good life with me, but I think she did more for me than I could ever do for her. She was a very special girl and was a gift in so many ways.

She passed away a day before I left for a 2-week work trip. In some ways I was thankful to be away from home and not being constantly reminded of her. I still catch myself reaching for her when I'm on the couch watching TV since that's where she'd be. I even catch myself expecting to see her when I go downstairs. I really miss her, but with time I'll think of her and feel only happiness and not be overwhelmed by her loss. This is the first time in at least 30 years that I'm without a dog.

So sad to hear.
She was a beautiful pup, Rainee.
And you did her well to rescue her and give her those years of happiness.

My 2 rescues keep me going with all of life's difficulties this past year too.

Sorry to hear of that @McMXi. That's a great line from QE. We too have a rescue dog - absolute mongrel breeding. Got it as a pup, supposed to stop growing at about 20kg, now over 30kg and still slim. Love it to bits even after it ran into and broke my wife's knee.

Thanks for the condolences ... it means a lot. Sharing her loss here helps, and like a lot of members, I've gone through this process many times. I take comfort knowing that Rainee had a full life, and that I was able to spend almost all of it with her over the last five or so years. Working from home meant that she and I were rarely apart, and she rode with me just about everywhere. She was a like a magnet when out and about and loved the attention.

I'm also very grateful for my neighbor's tenant Brian who has been such a good friend and who has taken great care of her during those times when I had to leave her home. He and his wife were so sweet with Rainee and I've tried to repay him in all manner of ways since it's meant so much to me.

Towards the end she had a tougher time with any form or separation, even if just for a a few minutes, so I tried to do things when she was sleeping.

Here's Brian and Rainee a few months ago. She really liked him and I will always be in his debt.
