Near our daughter’s on the California coast….

If the dog had thumbs, he might make a great roofer…..or is it woofer?!?😉

Weekends are very, very tiring…..

I’m using my toy box for a pillow.

Every time I let him loose in the woods, he comes back with a bone, deer leg, groundhog or something!

How does this dog know how to tie knots ? She must have been an Eagle scout or got her sea legs somewhere. If this knot got tight it would take me some time to get it out. Under, over, loop here and then head under the truck!

She was just getting started. Probably going to tie a Gordian Knot and see if you could undo it. :ROFLMAO:

Do others here have their dogs help? We started this by accident with out since now passed lab, but all of our shepherds seem to like to help too…Here is Huey (the pup) helping to de-husk the corn.

And further…I’ve got a few vegetables growing in a garden. Tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers and some melons. The dogs get pretty much a little of everything as treats…after I pick them…but then, I need to keep a close eye on them or they will steal any fruit or veggie growing in the garden. Found bite marks and missing cucumbers!!

Farfel (yellow) and Daisy (black) resting after a tough day of 'escaping the compound'. Farfel wandered off into the woods for about 6 hours. An hour later Daisy started whining. I let her out and she bolted into the woods also, something she has never done. She came back about 20 minutes later.
We found Farfel due to the Apple Air Tag we have on his collar. He apparently came close enough to the neighbor's house and the iphone in the house picked him up. They never knew he was there until I drove over. Cool device.

I had a dog that figured out how potatoes grew and would dig them up and eat them!

Between her and the #)$(ing deer, I had to start fencing the garden.

It is with deep grief that I must say our beloved LYLA is gone. Her health degraded quickly in the past couple of months. While the granddaughter wanted to hold out and pray for the best I had to convince her that we have to do what is best for the dog. She was tripping going up and down stairs and bladder control was lacking. When she refused to follow me down to the back field I knew it was time. Grand kid (17.5 years) held her while the needle was given.
Past family generations would have used a 22 and a shallow hole. In this case, the vet made it painless and let the kid grieve. She will get a nice urn with the ashes and a clay imprint of Lyla's paw.
Lyla will be my last dog. My ties to the house and property are almost gone.
The wheel turns.
Good bye, Lyla !
No picture, just great memories.
