Broken hearted here after putting my little buddy down Saturday. Hurts so bad and pretty sure we can't do this again but really gonna miss the love of a dog. RIP Mo my buddy.

So sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. You just need time. Im on dog #5. I said I was done but after 4 years without I got another and so happy I did!

11 years ago I took a stray kitten from a neighbor to let to my wife, who works at a veterinary hospital, find it a home. Well, she is now our very spoiled "house" cat who is my best buddy. I call her Kittydog...

Thanks RCW, been a week today and pretty sure I can never deal with this kind of pain again. Each and everyone of them have brought us so much enjoyment and happiness but the pain is way too much to bear. Enjoy your new buddy my friend and give him a hug from both of us.

Thanks RCW, been a week today and pretty sure I can never deal with this kind of pain again. Each and everyone of them have brought us so much enjoyment and happiness but the pain is way too much to bear. Enjoy your new buddy my friend and give him a hug from both of us.

I get that. We’ve lost 3 dogs over 31 years. None are easy.

We had this conversation when we lost Ollie this year on New Year’s.

It’s so hard losing that big part of your life.

I was crushed when he passed. We only have one dog, and he was our buddy.

You guys are just a little older than we are.

I’m betting in 6 months, you’ll miss the company of a dog. While they are so hard to lose, you and the dog both enjoy so many years together.

There is obviously a benefit for the companion you raise and live with.

Having a pet is good for the owner too….

Someday, there’s another dog that deserves the love and home you guys can provide.

I agree with everything you said RCW but we really need more time to get over the pain of losing our little buddy.

My oldest daughter was 20 or so and wanted to hug our dog as we put her peacefully down. She cried for a full day after we got home. In her 30's, she and her husband had to put down their cancer ridden dog. She called and said it never gets better, you just understand more and cry a little less.
My pup is very much like me right now. Would rather sleep than run and looks twice before climbing the back stairs. She will be our last, and we she passes I'll go up the back hill and howl at the moon to let our earlier dogs know she is on the way .
