Auxiliary hydraulics on an old tractor

I'm working on a L2950 for a friend and the extra hydraulics appear to be tapped into the pressure for the three point. Without making a huge mess how do I determine the out and in connections.
UPDATE.. Problem solved with no small thanks to this community. The advice on the fitting configuration was spot on. Getting light at the right angle revealed that the block was in fact stamped with the letters R and another one hidden by the fitting but partially visible.

Pictures would be helpful. But basically, flow should go from the pump, to the auxilliary control with Power Beyond feature, then to the 3ph. On many models, Kubota provided either a diverter block or diverter valve to interrupt the flow from the pump to the 3ph. I'm not familiar with the specifics of the L2950, but looking at the parts diagram it has what appears to be a diverter valve. If so, the valve would be rotated one way to supply auxilliary hydraulics as well as the 3ph, rotated the other way supplies the 3ph only.

Do you have the operator's manual?

Well if it's a block like that one then there's no diverter valve. One side comes from the pump, the other side goes to the 3ph. Auxilliary hydraulics are connected in between. You'll have to trace the pipes to figure out which side is which.

From looking at parts illustrations the L2950 block is not like the B7100 style.

These three illustrations show a spool valve sandwiched between existing hydraulic components.

This stuff is pricey, around $1,300 and worse no longer available.

As Torch said, pictures of existing might help. A description of what you are trying to do would bring more useful comments.

I have not checked the parts book descriptions but the pictures look like the remote is a conventional sectional valve. It is being fed from a diverter block (item 30 ) on the top of the hydraulic cover. No third line for tank return shown in that picture but Kubota sometimes puts that in a separate diagram. DCVs are typically left hand supply so pure WAG is pressure in is the left side pipe on the valve.

#30 in the top image posted by Dave could be a similar type of hydraulic block, but Kubota is calling it a "connector". Looks like it is mounted with a single bolt though, so it's not the exact same.

There is a 4th diagram, labelled "Hydraulic Block", but it's not clear to me how it fits into the system:



10 (which includeds A and B) is called the "HYD FRONT BLOCK ASSY". A is clearly a casting, possibly a valve body and B seems to be a valve but they are not called out separately. I suspect they were not available separately because they were precision machined as a matched pair.

Found it. It is unlabelled but appears on one of the hydraulic lines diagrams as located between the pump and the 3ph:



Definitely a diverter valve.

Looks like the main system pressure relief valve to me. Pump pressure in on line 110 and two lines from there to the rear. Number 140 supplies pressure to the 3pt/remotes and number 60 is a over pressure relief to tank. Very similar to the system used on the current L01s.

Edit" After looking a bit closer you are right - it is also a diverter valve. Probably used to supply the loader just like the L01 except it has a selector valve built in.

The remote valve stack (below) is fed by the two lines coming from the outlet block on the top of the 3pt cover. Now where is the tank return line for the remote valves?

Apart from an intimate understanding of the system, what do you have in mind - what are you wanting to achieve?

This is quite similar to the set up on this tractor. It would appear that pressure is from the left side looking forward. I may be dealing with an aftermarket version of this set up.

OEM or aftermarket the pressure is coming from the same port on the hydraulic cover. That is the left one looking forward and also the left side of the valve looking rearward. Just out of curiosity does the valve on that tractor have a separate tank return?

Pictures would be interesting.

Nope, return goes into the same aluminum block. There is a round knob to the right that looks like it's original equipment, what is it for?

Monoblock valve on fender is different. Knob is probably 3pt lowering speed. Sounds like valve is not configured for power beyond - the hydraulic gods will be offended 🙄
