looking to add a aux fuse box to my 1880. I have two schools of thought and wanted you opinions.

Option# 1 says run #10 wire with inline fuse to relay. connect fuse box to relay. Problem there is I have to find a way to tap into the ignition wire and Im not sure how to go about that.

Option #2 says buy a pre-made deal like this and reconfigure the ends to connect to a fuse box. the switch will keep it from being live all the time...but I have to remember to turn it off...lol

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HHT19W4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A1R8FZ1OZTF048&psc=1

Plus any advise on a location for the fuse box itself on the BX???

Thanks guys !!!!!!!!

What are you planning on "hooking" to this aux fuse box?
Lights? or something else?

I hooked a new fuse box as you described - hot all the time and is fused - all my aux equipment can be used WITHOUT key on - not likely I will leave those lights on and forget to turn them off. I have fan blowing too in summer, not likely I will walk away and leave it running too.;)

Bypass all fuses in OEM box....run your own system, that way any problems that are created will be isolated if any occur.

I chose hot all the time so I could turn lights on without tractor on. I understand why you would want it separate however.

this would be ideal.

I mounted this right under the speed control on my BX25D - short jumper to + on batter post.

10 gauge would be a plenty for the shortness of run it will need.

My ROPS lights are hooked into my fuse box, I tied into the worklight lead that is under my rear fender. I am looking to run a second 12v port, a fan and my "power" salt spreader when completed. it has an actuator, and power window motor on it. not positive how much of a draw that is.

Oh, and all these things dont run at once...:)

I pulled the 'ignition on' power for a similar application from the rear work lights connections. Mostly because I knew where they were. When I get time, I'll trace them back closer to my control switch and tap in there.
Nothing wrong with leaving the aux panel hot as long as your rememberer is working and your forgetter isn't when you get off the tractor.:D

I got this and am going to wire it hot all the time. The ground comes to this as well, so remote mount is great with easy access ground wire spot.

This will be all aux things that I want to run either with or without the tractor on.
As stated, these things will be difficult to leave on without realizing it.

Mine is a 2650 with cab and one thing will be interior lights on a remote. dome light is manual on/off, not door activated.
