I have a MX5000 and want to purchase a 3 point auger with 36 inch bit to plant trees on our ranch. Will my tractor handle an auger capable of running a 36 inch bit. If so, any suggestions on which brand?

Your going to be pushing it, I don't find a single three point unit that says it capable of running a 36".

You're looking at $3K for the setup to do it, if you don't have too many to do I would rent a unit to do it. ;)

Might want to pass on where your place is.
If I were digging post holes at my place in Pasadena, a regular "cheap auger" will work.
My place in Utopia, different story.
Gotta have a rock auger up here unless you are lucky enough to hit a pocket of soil, otherwise it's caliche or limestone.
