I just purchased a SpeeCo 3pt post hole digger but I didn't purchase the actual auger. Are some brands better then others or are they basically all the same. I also suspect that they have a universal connection between the post hole digger and the auger itself but would like someone to verify that.

To clarify further I'm looking for opinions on various brands of augers, when I use the term auger I'm referring only to the 4' by 6"-9"-12" diameter screw portion of the digger that screws itself into the ground and not the gearbox, pto shaft or bracket that attaches the unit to the tractor. I hope I have described what it is that I'm looking for better this time around. Thanks.

Maybe its just me but Im a tad confused on your terminoligy. Some people consider a post hole digger and an auger to be one in the same thing. They way you are talking it sounds like you have two different pieces. Perhaps you could post a picture of what you have and we'll help point you in the direction of what you need.

if your looking far an auger bit go with a Danuser there as good as they come and resonably priced, I have a Danuser auger and its one tuff piece of equipment. The picture shows an auger tree I built makes it a one man operation to hook up no lifting at all .
