I just thought I would get a thread started about the tractor.
I bought this to do some work around the house, it is a great tractor.
Have had to do a few little things, Radiator, fluids, and filters.
PO didn'd use it much and bought it from estate of original US owners.
Have a few implements, and am saving for a FEL.
I'll post more photos and questions later.

KC, good looking tractor. What is the weight on the front? Usually see suitcase weights up there.

It actually has 2 weights up front.
1 is marked B-1 and sets down in the bumper.
1 is marked B and is the one that is visible.
I'll get some more photos of the tractor.

Vic, is their an advantage to these type of bumper weights versus suitcase weights? I need something on my B7100. Suitcase weights around here go for about a $/lb.

Asbug, I love that tractor! I do think the estate owners were not the original owners though . Your Kubota would have been delivered to it's original owner in Japan (probably a rice growers co-operative like Zennoh) in the late 70's and was imported into North America sometime in the early to mid nineties.
Yea, I guess I could have phrased that better. I'm the 3rd US owner... LOL.
I purchased a new Filter for the air and it is running better.
I need to shorten the driveshaft on my 42" rotary cutter for the use of the clutched PTO adaptor I purchased. I am thinking about getting one of those Class 1 quick tph adaptors, any advice?
It seams that all the driveshafts on my equipment are all to long and this would save me from having to remove driveshaft material...
Here are some more photos of the tractor:

Flasher lens - I need a set (front and back pieces) for one side.
SDVick, you do not have a part# do you?

Rear 3 point hitch as is, notice the small PTO shaft (1 ridge...) Also, I have ordered a ROPS for the B7001 and It appears that some of this is going to have to be removed for install.
SDVick, is it worth reinstalling the pivots and small pin holders for the rototiller?
Enjoy.
Thanks,
KC

Put the tractor through it's 1st real test last evening.
I have a Bearcat 5455 5" chipper shreader, and it is a hoss.
I ran the tractor at approx 75% throttle for 2 hrs powering this shreader under load.
I was concerned about the new radiator and the cooling system, ambient temps were 83*F and the tractor was working hard. With the exception of starting the rotation of the grinding assembly the tractor does really well.
After 2 hours I pulled the radiator cap and the antifreeze was hot but not burning when I stuck my finger in it.
I filled the radiator approx 4 hours ago and I seem to have no leaks in the system.
I put some fresh diesel in the Botoa and it seems to run alot better (other diesel was like 2 years old...LOL).
Lots of limbs and leaves to work on after the tornados last week, but I can grind about as fast as I can burn, we are just under a burn ban in GA now (May to November...)
But I just LOVE my B7001.

Congrats Asbug! I just parked the shredder to change the trans/front/hyd on my new to me orange roughy. I am simply amazed at how stout the guy is. Uphill, downhill, and over some trees I shouldnt have. I had a hard time parkin it in the garage to do the service. Now to find a tie rod and Bearcat (I fall under the burn ban too, and a mountain of brush to go!

asbug, could you post a picture of your Bearcat. I am interested in a pto shreader, but haven't decided which to go for yet on my B7100.

This about 2 hours of 60% shreading and 40% pulling to the tractor...

Side shot of Shreader...

Chipper Model (Like I said, this thing is 17-43HP)...

Cat 1 Quick connect (didn't have to cut the shafts on any thing.)

New ROPS system...

ROPS mounting for the system...

Comes with this new slide housing, this was good - the OEM was tired after 34 years..

Looking Good Asbug. I like the way the ROP connects clean. I am having tractor Implement envy!

ASBug, really looks good! You will have me looking for one. What is the max limb size it will take?

My experience is 3-4" realistically.
IF I had more HP I could do the advertised 5".
I have a set of new blades to go in it, this would probably help, just havent taken the time to put them in. This unit is 5 years old and was my grandmother's. I love the fact that it is orange as well.
I got the CAT 1 quick connect to keep from having to cut the shafts of my equipment.
I got it on sale for $80 US.
It makes it easier to hook up the implements, a few of them have to be modded a little for the top link hook.

Oh yeah, even with the front weights, this thing will teeter toter on the rear tires....
If I go into the woods with it I have to use the cutter brakes to steer going up hill...
Man, I have GOT to get a FEL...
Also, I like the inlet hopper on this thing, I was digesting 20' 3-4" base trees WHOLE.
As long as the side shoot off limbs are smaller than say a nickel, I was able to push them in.
I digested approximately 60+ lims and small trees to make that pile of chips, I only culled approximately 5-6 twisty/large limbs that wouldn't fit into the hopper with out more work from a saw.

It sounds great. I have the 10hp Troybilt. I'd like to sell it and get a pto driven chipper now that I have the B7100. I sharpen my blades every Spring. It makes a huge difference.

OK, it appears that Echo has purchased the Crary shreaders and is still making them.
The new # for the 70554 is the SC5540. Looks identical to mine, but has an Echo logo on it. Say's PTO speed of 540 is reccomended. On my B7001 I believe that this is setting #1. This is what I have been using it on.
I checked the blades and they are nasty... They are glazed over and Look like they have never been turned over (reversable). I have a set of brand new blades for the chipper and will be installing them prior to the next shreading party...

I've got replacement lenses.
Vic,
Get me a quote on these little yellow lenses (with screws and metal insert spacers.
My left turn signal is non existant except for the round housing and the socket.
Give me cost and shipping to 30710 USA (Gerorgia)
Thanks.

Comes as a complete unit, including lamp, $24.
Is that with Shipping to GA-USA?

Also, are my rear tires as far out as I can get them? I think I could remove the wheels / hubs and flip the hubs to the flat side of the wheel and remount to get a wider foot print, my only concern is the extra vertical deflection on the axle at this point.
Can I move out the wheels any more? I know I can swap the fronts, but as is now they are the same width as the rears basicaly.

Thanks,
KC

I like to see one as well. Always wondered if they would shred big limbs fast enough
If they do, I'll hook one to the B6100 as I too am under the same burn ban
Just come on up this weekend and you can help me shred the last of the debris from the tornados!!!
Any way, I think that the unit was purchased from Atlanta environs.
I'll look up where she got it and post the contact info.
I think that they make a smaller version of this unit, but for the digestion capabilities of it, I like the larger housing and blades, just have to watch the diameter v.s. feed rate with the low HP that our tractors have (B6100=?HP)
Mine is only like 17hp and this is the absolute minimum for this unit..
