My L4240 is the same. It looked kind of odd. I thought maybe that 4th hole was for a feature I didn't have.

I solved the question in my head. Last time I went to Coleman's I had the parts man look up the bolt, nut and washer....and I bought two each. And installed them! However, only three were listed (per side)on his screen.

Installation instructions call for only three per side for whatever reason. Always wondered why with four holes.

Sure does look like it's moved or is moving. Retorquing attachment bolts is kind of SOP that most people fail to do. Add another bolt, both sides. Consult your owners manual for the proper torque value, it's in there, probably toward the front.

New.... i just brought it home Saturday

Both sides are the same. ... its just bugging the crud out of me.
If the assembly only calls for 3 fine but if there is a through hole for another, add it. No need to go to the dealer and pay an inflated price for a bolt and nut, your local Fastenal or Ace Hardware store will have the Metric / ISO bolt and nut / lockwasher in stock too.

Sure looks like it's moving from the paint mark / shadow. and I'd be checking the prevailing torque on all the mounting bolts, WITH A TORQUE WRENCH, not just by cranking down on them. Again, the torque values for different fasteners will be listed in your owners manual. The bolt head markings and shank diameter will determine what torque value they need to be at.

It's not moving, it's normal to have three bolts.

FYI: If it had moved as much as the paint mark suggests, the front and rear of the tractor would no longer be connected! :D

My L3540 came with 3. I know I don't need it but I added the fourth bolt.

That would drive me nuts. I'd add a 4th if it was mine, then I'd loosen, and retorque all of them to spec as well.

The paint line you are seeing is from the bracket being bolted to the shipping pallet and has nothing what so ever to do with the brace extending to the rear axle. The dealer just did not touch up the paint after installation.

After a few hours of use, the loader mounting bolts should all be retorqued.
