Mdhughes, thank you, I assume you are meaning to say that the 3301/3901's do not have a screen that you can display the dpf level on?

Yooper, the 3560 has an "intellipanel" screen for the dashboard. Besides some stuff it displays all the time, you can change what is shown in the middle by pushing a button to the left of the steering wheel, each press makes it show something else and you can use a sustained press to choose and set some features of the hst. It is kind of like the display on my truck where you scroll through stuff like %oil life, ave mpg etc. On the tractor there are about 5 views to choose from, and one is a bar graph of the dpf. It is useful, you can plan ahead so the regen goes smoothly and you have something for it to do which needs the high rpm.

Would you guys please describe (the next time you have some "spare" time) what you see on your displays and the regen instructions and I'll link to it for the tier 4 thread. Or put it in that thread. I have been wondering how different the various 2014 2015 models were, and short of going to a dealer that doesn't know I already have a tractor and asking to drive a 3301, I haven't found a way to find out. Not curious enough to buy a manual it was bad enough paying for the WSM for mine.
It is just two buttons on the dash board regen start and disable.

I'll add to this: When mine did the regen, light #5 started flashing indicating to increase rpm's. I slowly increased the rpm's until the light went off, around 2600. I can't remember if light #3 was already lit or if that came on when #5 went off, so somebody who has been through a couple of these can clarify this. Anyway, I just continued to work and it only took about 10 minutes to complete the regen. The sound of the engine is a bit more 'muffled' during the regen and you clearly hear it when it returns to normal. I noticed no difference in performance.

Having never regen (only 7 hours yet), i always thought regen was a parked thing. I guess it's not. i read the manual last night :D

has anyone noticed if fuel (road vs off-road grade, etc?) has anything to do with regen or is it pretty consistent?

The only difference between over the road and off road fuel is the dye that's added

This came from Acme fuel website. They sell fuel.

"Off Road Diesel

Acme/Fast Fuel offers Off Road Diesel at our Lilly Rd location. Off Road diesel (aka: heating oil or dyed diesel), is essentially the same as standard diesel, except that it has a red dye in it to show that there are no road taxes included in it; but there is sales tax charged on it. This fuel can only be used in equipment that is not driven on public roads (tractors, generators, home heating, etc.)."

Gotta filter what you hear (and your fuel), but skeets is correct.

Yooper, md that is very helpful, especially the descriptions of the lights, buttons etc. The L 60 series have essentially the same choices, buttons, and lights regarding the regen cycle, located differently though. The main difference is the display that shows the % full of the dpf. Mine is pretty consistant as to needing the regen cycle every 20-25 hrs, which may be specific to the tractor or to my use habits. We'll see if it changes when I am doing a lot of pasture mowing. In any case, lacking the dpf display you could pay attention to the hours so you know about when to expect a regen cycle. A blinking light is so easy to miss, only slightly less easy than the parking brake light :rolleyes:

The only thing fuel specific for the tier 4 tractors is that tney MUST have ultra low sulfur diesel. And my dealer said to avoid biodiesel. As far as I know in Michigan all of the regular service stations now only sell the ultralow stuff, which I think does not have any biodiesel mixed in. You have to go look for stations that have biodiesel.The fuel tax situation around here is in flux, so who knows what the off road stuff includes.

They have to list the fuel type. Just like with gasoline on wether or not it has ethynol. I've been told by a couple of dealers that biodiesel will void the warranty on tier 4 engines. So that is something to consider. I just had to send a deutz into the dealer and they automatically pulled a fuel sample for testing. Unit had 300 hours on it, and needs a new pressure relief valve in the injection pump according to the code :rolleyes:
