I am considering installing my own 3rd function valve kit on a 2018 B2650. Anyone here ever done this job before? How did it go and did you feel overwhelmed with the job?
I do all my own maintenance on my tractor and vehicles. I'm not a professional mechanic, but a shade tree mechanic. Still, I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.

I installed one on my L4610 a few years ago, was not difficult. I got a kit from Summit Hyd.
The only difference was the mounting, since I have a after market cab from Curtis.
They were very helpful on any questions I had during the choosing process and install.

I am also looking at the Summit package. After your post, I will be purchasing it in about 5 minutes. Thank you

The summit kit is very easily installed on that tractor. @bird dogger has an excellent write up with pictures posted here. I followed it while installing the summit kit on my LX2610.

RLinNH, it's an easy "chew" to install it yourself !! My B2650 install write up that @MOOTS referenced is here

Edit: I had to go back and look at what year I installed mine. April of 2020, almost exactly 5 yrs ago. I haven't had any issues with it during that time.

I see that you have a backhoe listed, that makes the job a bit more difficult and Summit likely doesn't have all the parts required. Find the instructions first for both the Summit and the one from a Kubota dealer.

I installed a Summit on a B2601 with a BH70 and had to have hoses made and needed some parts. At one time, the genuine Kubota kit was the way to go, I believe things have changed so do your research.

I see there is some information on here: https://www.orangetractortalks.com/...d-function-kit-install-on-kubota-b2650.44616/

I gotta ask. How can a 3rd valve function kit on the front end loader affect the backhoe? I was always under the impression that the backhoe is totally independent from the front end loader...

It’s in the plumbing. Read bird doggers thread, he has a back hoe. I think he had an extra fitting or two that weren't needed in the summit kit.

Moots is correct. I do have the backhoe plumbed in. In this post Post #5 towards the bottom of the post you'll see the extra hydraulic fitting I welded a small bracket to. That bracket bolted to the side of the tractor and along with its hydraulic coupler....the return line to tank coupled into it when not using the backhoe. With the backhoe installed....that return to tank line was uncoupled from that fabbed up fitting and the backhoe's hydraulics coupled up between them. Very simple and easy to see, once you start installing your kit.

I don't remember if I had to buy that fitting seperately from our local hydraulic shop or if it was in the kit.
It's a low cost item at any rate.

Because my backhoe had already been installed by the dealer.....some of the plumbing requirements needed for the 3rd function install had already been done to accomodate the backhoe.

Also see Post #10 in that same thread for more pics of that mounting bracket and location I used for the backhoe connecion.
