Thinking about ordering an M4D-061 with cast iron wheels which would be a good factory option and prefer not buying a tractor off lot, etc and wondering if anyone has ordered a tractor and how did that go? I have talked to a few dealers and they don’t seem like they are crazy about the idea. Thanks!

I had to order my last K tractor at the dealership pre-Covid and in 1 to 2 weeks got it delivered fresh of the boat. Post covid everything is a mystery including pricing. If you manage to find one on the lot somewhere you might save some tariff sticker shock.

Dealers do not like to do this. The much prefer to sell something off their lot or find a suitable tractor at another dealer and trade for it.

Be advised, that dealers will try to find something that has been sitting on another dealers lot for some time. Such equipment may well have aged inventory pricing incentives from Kubota, which the dealer will pocket without telling you about it. You will also be charged transportation expenses, though such may well be hidden from your invoice.

You are much better off ordering a new tractor from Kubota if you are not in a hurry. By doing so, you can avoid such shenanigans while being certain that you have the most modern version of your model.

Ordered my 4701 through the dealer because I wanted gear drive [clutch, DT] and they did not have anything on the lot with that tranny. They put the order into the factory and it came to the dealer in about three weeks.

Most of the M4D-071’s I’ve seen are equipped with cast centers already. Might be worth stepping up to that model.
