Howdy!
I was looking at putting Landpride’s SA 20 hydraulic loader auger on my MX5200. Does anybody own one or have feedback? Thanks!

I got my SA20 with a 12" diameter bit a month ago and have used it a couple of times just for testing to get the feel for it. On the 2601, it gets a little "tense" on slopes when it's lifted up to get it lined up, but lowering the BB helped a bit. Once started, it easily went through clay and small roots. I even used it at a 30-dgree angle to help break up the soil in out a 1' wide trench. Not what it's intended for, but it worked well once it got it at an angle where the bit didn't bounce.

Mine came with one male and one female hose end which meant I couldn't use it until I replaced the male connector. Not sure if that was from LP or from my dealer.

What else would you like to know?

David,

thanks for the reply! Did you get the low flow model, and have you been happy with how it works in hard packed soils? I plan on putting one on an MX5200, and regularly using the 18” auger.

I did get the low flow model. I didn't have any problems going through clay and some roots around 1" or less. It did stop rotating when I hit a 2" root, but pulling up slightly broke the root pretty easily.

Perhaps the MX with more flow will give more torque .. but I don't know if the flow increases the rotation speed or the torque. With an 18" auger, you might want to check if the low-flow will give enough torque.

I have one, but it is still hibernating. I am not sure that really helps you though(I have not used it yet). I bought it mainly for use with Mx but my understanding is that my B should be able able to spin with less performance…it’s not intended for the B though…I think there are 3 different motors options to size appropriately.
