Anybody else getting a bumper crop of these?

When we were building our house over 30 years ago there were occasional mushroom pickers who would wander the property. I didn't mind. Apparently before the area was subdivided for housing lots the owner had let them.

By far this is the biggest crop I've seen. They are growing everywhere. This pix is the driveway next to the edging I put in for my plantings. The woods are loaded with them as well as our back yard.

There must be something about soil conditions . . .

You are correct. Many shrooms (spores) wait for years until just the right conditions... then there is a bumper crop.

Yep, I go around and kick over a few a day. It has been humid and wet. Seems like good fungus conditions to me..

Yes lot of puff balls, I know enough about mushrooms, to buy them in a can

Along with mushrooms, seeing a lot of slugs this year, big fat ones.

Lots of mushrooms on our lawn as well this year none of which I would eat. Puff balls brings back memories of my childhood on the farm in the 50's and 60's when we would collect puff balls in the woods to give to our doctor. He would slice them and fry them in lots of butter. For this he would reduce my mothers medication bill. Back in the day pills were given out by your doctor.

I have always read that mushrooms are a good indication of healthy, fertile rich soil.
