Hello all,

I am in the same boat as others and search some older threads.
Kubota wants ~$400 per side for my tie rod assembly. Both the inner and outer are toast on both sides so this is almost a grand to replace.

I have been searching catalogs for the inners 35080-4460. I can fab just about anything for the outers.
Does anyone know of a source for the straight 18mm inner joint or a link/idea how to safely fabricate something.

My 3450 is no cream puff so a little frankinfab wont hurt it.

thanks,
Chris

How many hours on your tractor?
What are all you guys that lose tie-rod-ends doing with your tractors that are killing the tie-rod-ends?
Are Kubota tie-rod-ends made of unobtanium which is very soft and untempered to cause so many failures?
Tie-rod-ends should be very durable.... the ones on cars/trucks last for 100k miles and a decade or more.
What’s with these...?

Not sure Geo. but they even have a shield to protect them. Folks have to be driving through deep thick brush piles!

maybe a lot of heavy loader, turning the wheels wear ??
With power steering it's easy to not 'feel' the stress turning the wheels without moving, something 'armstrong' sterring lets you KNOW .
as for replacements, I'd be searching the net for anything that 'fits the holes'....

Hey, you can work a D-4 Cat dozer just like a D-8...................................................for a while.
Works on the same principle as putting bigger springs on the rear of a 1/2 ton truck and make it a 3/4 ton.
