Just bought a used Kubota B7300 and on second day of usage, the battery indicator light came on and a squealing noise started under the hood. After shutting down and not seeing any thing obvious, restarted and squealing noise resumed and engine started to choke down. I'm assuming the alternator is frozen up ??

If so, what is the recommended replacement?

is it possible to remove the belt and run the tractor? If you can remove the belt, the pulley should spin very easily by hand.

I would think that the pulley would bind the belt and you would smell rubber burning, the fact that you have a squeal says that the bearing is turning but it is binding.

take the belt off, see if it spins freely, if not - you have the problem in your hand. If it does spin freely, start the tractor and see if sound is still there.

report back.

Just a thought, bearings can be replaced in most alternators. But it does require a little patience.
As mentioned above, remove belt and spin all belt driven parts.
Dont run it too long without belt.

I'm betting more on a seized water pump than an alternator being seized.
Pull the belt and see which one doesn't spin easy. ;)
