That winch has a 5% duty cycle, so you can winch like 45 seconds and then you're supposed to stop and wait approx 15 minutes to let the motor cool down. If followed, you won't have any battery problems to worry about. Use the factory battery but you'll have to figure out how to do the cables; because the HF winch will use a LOT of juice, therefore it has big cables-that don't just attach directly to the tractor's factory battery connections. I think that's gonna be the toughest part. And don't skimp there either. Could lead to fire. I have an appointment coming next week, guy installed his own HF winch on an ATV, said wire shorted and burned the ATV. Wants me to see if it's salvageable. Don't sound good to me at all.
There is no fuse or breaker on the winch wiring; so keep that in mind. I think there should be, though.
