Is your alternator similar to these: 1G825-64010 alternator
They can be had for a little over $100 plus shipping. Or at your local auto parts stores maybe?

Take the one you have to an alternator repair shop and have it serviced? That should be much less money!

Hello Jake,

when I type kubota "bx25d" alternator as search words on google or other search engines lots of realistically priced alternatives show.

Also brushes, slip rings, bearings, voltage regulators are available as spares on alternator spare parts web sites. I refurbished mine, which I believe is similar to yours, for very little money.

I did not replace slip rings and brushes because they were still good but I bought the parts for future repairs.

Had an alternator on my M6800 go bad a couple years ago. Had my local alternator repair shop check it out, he could not rebuild it. He got a new one--cost about the same as Kubota provided parts. Good luck.

There have been threads on here about retrofitting dynamos with a small alternator. I think it has an integral regulator. If none of the previous posts work for you, try searching by 'dynamo' or 'alternator'.

I can accept that your shop said he cannot rebuild it. But I do not accept that this is due to parts not being available, as somebody earlier suggested. Those generators were built by the millions and aftermarket spare parts are available, you just have to search for them.

Also complete aftermarket generators are available between $65 and $180. The Kubota price is way off in my humble opinion.
