Allis Chalmers Corn Planter

I am just starting corn this season. I bought a farm last year and have been mainly clearing out what were fields 30 years ago (last owner let them grow over) and picking rocks out of the new one I am making. I should have about 10 acres ready to plant this year. I will eventually plant 30.

I found a allis chalmers 500 series 6 row with fertilizer boxes. The owner says it was used last year and everything works. Is anyone familiar with these planters? I am also looking at a jd7000.

The AC planter ought to do fine for your 30 acres. If you need more info, Google unofficial allis homepage, its a forum, like this one that has many members willing to answer your questions, about AC stuff. Oh, and welcome to the kubota forum...

Thanks! I will check it out. I just got the info. The one I found is actually a series 600 with 70 series planters. I will check out that site and see what I can find out. For $1500 in working condition it seems like a deal.
