I have an L3430HST and it wont go forward or reverse, will not steer, 3pt hitch out, loader doesn't work. This happen as I was using it without any noise or other sign of trouble. The fluid level is right and the engine cranks and runs fine. A mechanic at the dealership assured me it had to be the pump so I removed the pump and broke it down to the 3 sections and there are no obvious problems. I haven't checked the specs on it, but the mechanic said it would have to be a broken shaft to shut everything down.
Any Ideas?

Did you remove the filter and look into that ? I would think that even a clogged filter would allow some movement.

I am not sure as to how "many" pumps that machine has, but it too sounds as if a shaft is damaged to the point of not turning the pump.

Others will chime in that know that machine well.

Only 2 things come to mind:
Complete pump drive failure, even could be as far back as the rear of the fuel cam (that's what drives the pump), or a complete loss of suction (fluid supply to the pump).

Anyone know if the tranny runs the hydrauliic pump. If so my tranny may have gone out.
The hydraulic pump is run by the engine, it's driven by the fuel cam...I said that earlier.

Just because the gear spins unloaded does not mean it's working /turning when loaded.

Most common fail point is in the coupler to the pump.

Put the hydraulic pump back on, checked the filter, and added some fluid. Now everything works except the forward and reverse, so I guess its the transmission is out or is there something short of that causing the problem?

Do you have power steering?

Is the HST run off the same pump? On my little B7100 (completely different model, so may be completely different) the transmission has it's own pump, driven after the clutch. Other hydraulics are driven by a secondary pump that is directly coupled to the engine.

It seems strange that everything would be working and then everything died simultaneously if there's two pumps.
