Just a quick question..
Does anyone uses K&N air filter in their BX tractor ? I have BX 1880 I purchased new it's almost a year old.. I have used K&N filters in the past in my motorcycles. I like that you can wash and clean them, recharge them and reinstall..

Your advice is valued. Thank you.

You may be able to wash the Kubota filter also. At least on the older tractors the filters are paper but washable.

Thank you, Russell King..Did not realize you could. I' ve been using a air compressor & air gun to blow the dirt off it from the inside out.

A quick blow off of the filters will clean them right up.
The major difference for washable filters for Autos, Motorcycles, Trucks, and a small tractor is the amount of air that the engine moves.
These small diesel engines move very little air and at a low velocity so it doesn't normally pack the filters tight with dirt and debris.
Will a K&N filter work, yep, but you can replace quite a few filters for the cost of it.

Can not remember how many K&N filters I have thrown out due to the oil on the filter destroying the MAF sensor. I my opinion K&N is a solution in search of a problem. Just remove filter and give it a quick blow off from the inside and reinstall. On my BX never replaced the filter, just blew out(only had the BX a few years).

I never hated an engine enough to dust it with a K&N. Any tests you can find will show that they pass way too much dirt.

I know that K&N, makes a foam filter sleeve that goes over their filter,to keep additional dust/ dirt out. For lack of a better term, a pre filter.

On a tractor, you need all the dust filtration you can get. K&N filters are not the correction filtration level for any tractor.

Thanks gentlemen. Live and learn..I will stick with the Kubota filter and the pre filter. They are both cheap insurance. Never know unless you ask..
