I have a new bx2370 with 23hrs on it and noticed i have bubbles visible in my HST fluid when i pull the dipstick after working the tractor. They pop/dissipate or whatever you wanna call it after a short time and the fluid looks clear and normal color. Fluid level checks out good since getting it and hasn't dropped or leaked anywhere that ive noticed. Does this sound normal to you all? Seems to run and have plenty of power. HST has a whine but my understanding its a normal HST noise.

Bubbles are normal, lots of gears in there to churn it up.
Foam is the one to worry about, that is caused by the pump sucking air.

I guess i struggle with the difference in bubbles and foam but ill say this. I worked my BX pretty hard today mowing and hauling. When i parked her i jumped off and pulled the cap on the HST to find the bubbles i am talking about which totally disappeared in about 15 seconds. I assume if it was the "foam" you guys are talking about and i read online that i would linger much longer correct? I called my dealer and he said the bubbles i am seeing are totally normal behavior but would check it for me when i brought her in for service. Any additional input?

Bubbles would be like hitting a bowl of water with an egg beater. Foamy is like soap suds while hand washing dishes;)

..... what i saw was like suds on a glass of coke? Bubbles that quickly popped and went away.... make sense? HST fluid is clear and clean otherwise. Sound like bubbles or foam to u?

If they quickly popped and went away i would say bubbles. Foam will be like a film and wouldn't go away for a while.

Foamed oil has a 'milky' appearance. The bubbles are small and in suspension of the oil. Larger top bubbles aren't unusual after a system has been running a while and they pop easily so that sounds like what you are experiencing. If the tractor is operating normally, I'd ignore it.

Mine seem to be on top and visible through the dipstick port on the HST. They all pop/go away in about 20 seconds or so and the fluid is still clear once gone. Im going to assume its normal especially since my dealer said it was also. Going to stop and test drive a new Bx friday to compare real quick. Let you all know what i see.

Maybe a fellow BX owner could go drive their tractor a little bit then jump off and check the fluid in the HST dipstick / fill hole for me to see if theirs does it also? If not its ok, i can just test drive one at the dealer this weekend and compare but it would ease my mind if others have the same thing occuring...

It's bubbles, If it was foam you would know it because the HST would quit working! ;)

went and drove a new one today at my dealer to compare against mine. There were bubbles in the HST fluid on it too after a short drive around the lot. Mine has a few more than his did but still his did produce a similar result so im not as spooked as I was. My dealer told me not to worry, its under warranty and sounds completely normal to him. He would check everything at my 50 hr service.
