Aftermarket replacement for hydraulic cylinder

I narrowed down my issue with the loader to the hydraulic cylinder, which is leaking internally.

I have a BX25D with a LA240A front end loader. The cylinder that I need is the double action cylinder which curls and uncurls the bucket, Kubota's part number is 7J612-64013.

I have searched far and wide and cannot find one the right size to replace it. Kubota is very proud of theirs at $450 and the aftermarket ones that are close to the right size are in the $200 range.

Has anyone found a replacement part for this or know of a source or a cross-reference part number list? I can't find one anywhere...

Thanks

You plan to buy a new cylinder?

There is a kit to rebuild all the internal seals/wipers available from your dealer or a local hydraulic repair shop. If you're not wanting to do the repair yourself, just remove the cyl. and take it to the hydraulic shop, when they have it repaired, reinstall it. Much less cost then a new cylinder.

With a reasonable amount of mechanical ability, those cylinders are not at all hard to rebuild. If the rod isn't bent or otherwise damaged.

I'd find a different shop!!

So the whole cyl. new at Coleman's in $452. Why not get the part number for the repair kit and inquire, but if you're absolutely not mechanically inclined or don't have time or want to try the repair....then the $452 is the answer.

Or purchase the kit and find someone who does mechanical repairs and they may be interested in installing the kit. Do you have any tractor dealer nearby? Ask one of their tech. what it might cost to have them install the kit.

I'm near Columbia. I haven't checked with the dealer yet on the cost to rebuild it. The shop I checked with is the one on Shop Road...I didn't know the part numbers or anything at the time and they gave me a ballpark of $300-400. When I get time I'll try bringing in the actual cylinder to see if I can get a better cost. He may have thought I was bringing in some heavy equipment part.

At any rate, I was hoping there was someone out there who had replaced this with an aftermarket so I had that option.

I buy my cylinders at surplus center. Labor can be intensive on rebuilds, even with the right tool. The problem is, if you are using on your loader, you may need 2 cylinders, one for each side. Matching mounting distance to be identical with your cylinder may prove to be a challenge.

These guys have done me well and given me great products.

I've had to replace my tilt cylinder twice...first time the dealer took pity on me and only charged $125. The second time I had a hydraulic shop rebuild the cylinder for $250.

Seal kit is around $105 from Kubota according to Messick's parts page. It should be about an hours work to rebuild if there is not any problems getting it apart or back together again.

I had that place on Shop Road build a hydraulic line for me for my backhoe thumb project. I knew it would be more than ordering it from discounthydraulichose.com but I wanted to get it on that day. Had I known how much it was actually going to cost I probably would have ordered it and waited. When I went to pay they assumed I worked for one of their open account customers, and it was like the guy had a hard time remembering how to run a credit card. Definitely seems like they are setup to cater to the heavy equipment crowd, but I don't know of any other hydraulic shops in the Columbia area.

I'm near Charleston. I have a guy that does a lot of Kubota work. If you can get the kit and bring it to me, I will fix it for you. Long drive but I work for free. That little cylinder is really not hard to rebuild. You just have to be careful to orient the seals properly. That involves remembering how the old ones came out.

Did anyone find aftermarket for this?
I doubt that there is an aftermarket cylinder available, however, I just had one of my lift cylinders rebuilt at a local hydraulic shop and I brought them the Kubota kit to use in the rebuild. It cost me $125 in labor, and I prearranged with them for me to wait for the cylinder, since the shop was about an hour away.

Check different hydraulic repair shops.

I had both my tilt cylinders on my B2910 loader rebuilt this summer for $100 each out the door. The kubota seal kit would have cost about half of that delivered.

Take the cylinder in and let them look at it. They may be thinking it is something off a larger machine, do not know. When they saw my cylinders the original quote price (over the phone) was almost double what it ended up when they saw what they were dealing with. My replacement cost would have been about $600 each from Kubota.
