Advice on used B3350 - go for it or keep looking

I've been looking for a compact Kubota tractor for quite some time. My primary uses will be snowblowing our 600' driveway (we live in southern Maine and can get some pretty big storms with heavy wet snow), grade our gravel driveway, and tackle other odd jobs around the house including landscaping, clearing felled trees, etc.

Ideally I've been looking for a used B2650 (or something similar) with reasonably low hours and a factory cab. I've seen a reasonable number of 2650's for sale, but very few with a factory cab (lots of aftermarket cabs that look less than stellar).

The other day I saw a 2015 B3350 with a cab pop up for about $19k. The machine has less than 500 hours and was recently serviced. I called the owner and he said it was in good condition. They're the second owner and, after they bought it, they had it serviced to the tune of $7k to replace the injectors and do other work to get it running well. Needless to say this caught my attention - that's an expensive repair. He said the tractor had been run too long at low RPM's by the previous owner which fouled the emissions system.

This led me to do some research on this particular model and I've come across a number of posts talking about issues specific to the emissions system (I assume this is separate from the injector issue but not sure).

So, I'm looking for a sanity check. Do I proceed with caution, walk away, or run? Looking for some good advice with a bit of context to help me understand the issues a bit more clearly.

If the answer is walk away, what would you suggest I look for?

Thanks!

Kubota no longer makes this tractor because of the problems that it has with the emissions on this model.

I own a 2018 B3350 and I agree with BigG. Move on.

If really interested, search the archives for my posts about the 3350. You will find a wealth of information which I will not attempt to summarize here.

I'd only buy it if it was very well priced. A different model is safer. There are people running B3350s very happily, there are also people with substantial issues, particularly in colder climates. Given this one clearly has already had some issues, it might not be a keeper, and the model itself is risky.

If you have another option that does what you want, take that option. If it's at a price that is exceptional, and you're prepared for the risk it could be a lemon, then maybe.

while shopping for a new zero turn. Two dealers closest to me would not sell me a 1511 due to it having the same engine and emissions system as the 3350. The one stated he loves meeting new people and making new friends but he doesnt want to make one with me through his service department. I would think the zero would have less emissions problems also due to its higher normal operating range that what a tractor will see. so I'd more than likely stay away from the 3350.

From everything I have read, I would not purchase a 3350.

If you have the money, the L3560 with a cab has been great, but that is a big price jump from the 3350.

Thanks all, looks like I'll stay away from this one. I had thought maybe the $7k in engine work would have included some known retrofits to address the issue but it sounds like that's not the case. I'll keep looking.

Well, as it turns out there was just a B2650 HST with a factory cab listed for sale - first time I've seen one with a factory cab listed for sale in a while. It includes a 72” plow blade and 63” front mount snow blower. Both plow and snow blower are all hydraulically controlled. Price is $26.5k which seems pretty steep to me. Thoughts?

If the snowblower/blade combination is useful to you, I suggest you procure the funds you feel comfortable with and then go talk to the seller in person. Asking price and what they will sell it for are two different things when there is a willing purchaser with money in front of them.

Why are they selling? If buying another the dealer's trade-in is likely significantly less than this.

Snowblowers are expensive options and nice to have if you need them.

Are there similar issues with the B3030 model, or is this specific to the B3350?
Specific to the B3350. The B3030 does not have the Tier IV emissions that the 3350 has.
