Hello, I have just joined however I have read and learned so much from this site over the last few months. I looked very closely at the L3901 but I have a opportunity to buy a “New” 2016 L3560 from a dealer. It is an open station, 4x4 with the LA555 QA loader. R4 tires, 72” bucket and all the bells & whistles. They will add the 3rd function valve. Price would be $24,500 after rebates. This is a new 2016 tractor that has never sold. This seems like a good deal. Opinions would be very welcome.

I love the larger operating station. I am a larger guy. I would have liked the LA802 loader but I am thinking it is a good compromise for the price. I have access to a larger tractor & loader if I need one.

Thanks in advance,

That is a really good tractor, and still in full production, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if it's what you want and you like the price. ;)

Wolfman. Thanks for the reply. My concern was the price. I think it sounds good but it is a 2016. The pessimist in me wonders why it has sat on the lot for 2+ years. It has some rust on the starter an grill guard. But when I compare used.... I find older models with 400-500 hours for about the same price.

I've had mine for 3 or 4 years now and I have nothing but good to say about it. The price seems good and you'll have no trouble touching up a little paint.

Try using those little rust issues as a bargaining tool to get a little more knocked off the price.

Price seems ok, but what would the price be if you ordered one with the LA805 loader? I bought my L3560HSDC with a cab, LA805 loader, 3rd function valve, and 72" box blade for about $10k more... which pretty much covers the cost of the cab. I guess my point is, you may be able to get what you want for the same price.

I got mine at a good price because it was on the lot over the winter because they ordered it for a customer, and then financing fell through. At that point I figured they were stuck with it, and had to carry the costs themselves. So the sale was good for both of us... I got a good deal and he got out from under a bad deal.

Personally, I do not get why people opt for the smaller loader and loss almost 600 lbs in load capacity. You can always put a smaller bucket on the LA805 if you want. But the 72 bucket covers your tracks better. In your case maybe it becomes a cost issue because they want to get rid of inventory, but I would still check out the cost of them swapping the loader out for the LA805. If they haven't sold it in 3 years, they maybe motivated to see if they can do some horse trading with another dealer to swap loaders in order to keep the deal alive.

The L3560 is a good tractor. I don't regret getting mine. Honestly, I got it for the cab (which is great [emoji3]), but overall the rest of the tractor exceeded my expectations. It is a heavier tractor for its size so it behaves like a larger tractor. Plus it is feature rich... which comes in handy.

Good luck. I am sure you will enjoy it no matter what you do.

My dealer only stocks standard L's which sell well in the area. I ordered my L3560 through them and they'd never had a Grand L before. Also, from this forum it appears most people step up to the L4060 rather than the L3560. These might be reasons why it sat on the lot.

I've been extremely happy with mine. I have the LA805 loader since I ordered it from scratch. Great tractor if you don't need more lifting or PTO horsepower.

I also don't think people can see or feel the difference between the L3901 and the L3560... Which I think is night and day different. ;)

Yes there are really a bunch of useful and functional features on the 3560 not on the L01 series. Don't know what the 3d function valves add to the cost, but it seems like a good price to me. Ask them to drain fuel tanks, change fuel filter, as part of pre delivery preparation. Ask them to throw in a WSM as part of price. These are really nice tractors, last tech out to do routine service on mine asked me to let him know if I decided to sell it.

Guys at my dealership loved mine too, not having had one before.

I test drove it today. I really liked it. Only issue was a sticky loader lever. They will go through the tractor before delivery.

This may be a dumb question but what is a WSM?

Thanks

Sorry for the acronym, workshop manual. Costs about $120 for a paper copy, takes 2 big 3 ring binders to hold, the dealer can get you a downloadable form.

The reason it hasn***8217;t sold is the loader. No one wants that gimpy loader on a nice heavy machine. The difference in the loader costs online at Kubotausa is about $1200. See if they will add $1000 and give you the better loader...then its a deal IMO.

Also if it has been sitting outside for 3 years, be sure there isnt a bunch of cracking/sun damage on the hydraulic hoses.

Can they just swap out the FEL. I tried to get them to swap one off a used L3560 and they said they had to swap the sub frame or something. Also something with the third function set up. Was going to take 2 days and add $1,500.

They act like they don’t want to do anything extra. No WSM said they will sell me one but cand do a downloadable file. Also won’t add on RimGuard in the rear tires.

They seem high on the box blade and finish mower. I think I could build one with the LA805 for a couple of thousand more.

Yes they would have to swap out the sub frame also.

Doesn't sound like they want to do much to sell a tractor that has been sitting around for 3 years. Odd... I guess they don't want to get rid of it yet, or you need to talk to someone higher up in the food chain. Someone who has their own money wrapped up in inventory cost. They may be more motivated.

If it were me I'd want a new from factory one unless I was getting a great deal. If you can get one with the better loader for a couple grand more...I'd do that.

Buy want you want, not what they got!

I'd hate to get on my tractor and every time, say to myself..."I wish I would of..." A little extra spent now will reward you for years.

Which box blade and finish mower are they trying to sell you? I hope it isnt the bottom of the barrel models. If they are then I would kill the deal.

They didn’t really push for any specific mower and box blade. He went middle of the road. FDR2572 for the mower and BB2572 for the box blade. I can walk in to ACME tool and get the same box blade for $340 less.

I agree about not settling for what they have but I started looking at B series and then the L3901. I found this L3560 sitting next to the L3902 and didn’t even ask about. It was bugging me for a couple of weeks so I inquired. That’s when I found out it was a 2016. Negotiated the price to within $1800 of the 3901.

I am sure the 3901would have been fine for my needs but I really like the larger Grand L. I couldn’t come close to building a new one for this price so I pulled the trigger on it.

With building a new house budget is an issue so I had to stop somewhere. I’m just getting the tractor, loader & bucket. I will get a used box blade and mower or new from another vendor.

Thanks for the input. I am sure I will keep learning from you all.

Brad
