No do not fill it all the way!!!
There should be a dip stick somewhere around there, it will just look like a loop of wire.
If no dip stick the look on the side of the trans for a sight glass about 1/2 way up the side.
If no sight glass look for a plug with a square head that will be 1/2 way up the side of the trans tunnel.

Ok I've got to know, does it have twin exhaust stacks? More pictures would be great I've never seen that model, looks to be in great shape!

Have a L1511DT

http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11102&stc=1&d=1396436371

Need to add trans fluid, but don't know how much, and can't find any way to measure when to stop filling. I assume filler cap is in picture below. Does anyone have a similar setup? Do I fill it all the way?

http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11103&stc=1&d=1396436704

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bob
Yes, it does have twin exhaust. One for each cylinder. The two new pictures are of the left and right side of the transmission. No sight glass, now square bolt, and now wire dip stick. Raining right now, but when it clears, I will get better pictures and include them.

On the left foot support, looks like a plug right even with the plate. That should be the trans level. Remove it and pour fluid in the top untill it runs out that hole. It should then be full.

OK everybody...thanks for the help. You got me thinking, and started looking for a nut (or whatever) that looked out of place and saw the one in picture one below. Unscrewed it, and there was the dip stick attached (picture two). Hard to tell but it was below the seat and to the rear of the hydrolic fluid filter. Since I seem to be on a roll here, let me ask if anyone knows the function of a couple of levers. Have figured out three on the right side of the tractor, and one on the left, but two on the left are still unidentified. Third picture shows one that appears to go into a housing that hangs down from the bottom of the transmission
The other one has linkage that goes forward under the clutch pedals and ends in picture four. Am only allowed to post five pictures at a time so will put three more of the unit on the next posting.

Thanks again for all the help.

If I'm looking at this right, first is the Mid-PTO, and second is the clutch linkage.

Thanks, I think you are right about the PTO, but look and picture number 4. The lever that is above the clutch pedal is attached to the rod that ends up by the label in picture five. I passes under the clutch.

Thanks

Bob

It could be PTO speed, 2, 3 or 5 stops?
2 Low, High
3 Low, neutral, High
5 Low, neutral, medium, neutral, high

Just a wild guess here-- Could the unknown lever be activate the clutch for the pto (independent of the drive). The shaft looks like it goes into the clutch area.

hi I have one of these (l1511dt) the lever top left hand beside seat is for speed low neutral med neutral etc. the next lever down if 4wd or 2wd the next one from that is pto neutral, 1, neutral,2 etc. mine still has all stickers and has been sheded since he brought it and now I do the same may as well keep it good.
have finally found a Kubota dealer who will sell me parts regardless what Kubota Australia say about it being a grey tractor (up till now no Kubota dealer will talk to me) I have told numerous farmers and friends who I deal with thorough work not to buy a Kubota as they don't stand behind there product. father inlaw has a yanmah and they cant help him enough. regardless of who imports a product the company who makes it should support the product. they say buy a new one and there will be no problems wth parts or service, I bet the sales rep said that last time to.still I love my little machine. but dream of the day Kubota stand behind there product.

Hi this is my very first post, I just purchased a Zen-Noh L3001. I am trying to check the trans/hydro level as well, but there is no dipstick and no sight glass. The gentleman that sold it to me sells a few a year, an outfit in Texas professionally refurbishes them, for all practical purposes my husband and I think we did very well but I'm a little frustrated and would be extremely thankful for any help!! I thoroughly checked both sides above and below, and on the rear of the tractor near where the PTO shaft attaches on his advice but to no avail..there are 2 bolts, we think that maybe the sight was removed, and replaced by a bolt? I attached pics from 2 angles to show those bolts..thank you so much!

Not familiar with your model, but the large hex head between the two orange posts in your first pic appears to be the drain plug, and the 2nd pic shows a winged plug or cap just behind the transmission tower- does that have a dipstick? If not, in your 2nd pic, there appears to be a boss directly behind the clutch pedal arm, just behind the 10mm bolt head, above the wire. Is there a plug or sight glass there? Many of these have a plug in the side of the transmission or gear case, and you remove the plug, & add fluid until it runs out the hole. If none of that helps, maybe some pics of the other side of the transmission.

Note: Make sure you are removing a plug, not a bolt; someone posted here in the past about pulling a bolt out looking for a fill port, and something dropped loose inside the tranny, needing a tear down to repair.

Wow hadn't heard of anyone selling "new" grey market tractors lately, hope that guy is broke, because if Kubota catches him he'll loose everything he owns, it's highly illegal to import Grey market Kubota's.

As far as your hydraulic fluid goes, Lil Foot got it right, winged plug on top is fill, bolt right in front of pedal is level and plug under the bottom is a drain plug.
That is the way they are made no sight glass or dip stick on the cheap models.

Is it illegal in every country Wolfman or just the USA?

There is a sticker on my grey that references the importer of the tractor. When I was looking for a starter I called them and they were really helpful. Their price was half the Dealers price but still more expensive than a rebuild which they suggested.

Didn't think to ask them if they still imported tractors?
