Adding Hydraulic Lift/Angle to Land Pride RB 1572

I started by adding Kubota rear remotes on my LX2610HSDC. Not too bad if you're mechanically inclined. That accomplished, it was time to tackle the hydraulics. On the Land Pride site, I found the RB 1672 (the RB 1572's hydraulic optioned big brother) parts manual, which shows the hydraulic angling option parts break down.

From my dealer, I ordered the front hydraulic cylinder bracket to save time fabricating one. It bolts on to the RB 1572.

Ace Hardware - (2) 1/2" x 3.5" Grade 5 bolts (OE nuts and lock washers were reused)

Hose assembly and installation of the top link cylinder and hoses is pretty straight forward.​
Fittings are adjusted to prevent binding through full range of motion.​

Bracket for angling blade required fabrication to have a positive connection to the pivot tube​
and still be removable, should service on the blade be necessary. Angle used was 1/4" 2 x 2".​
I used 5/8"steel rod as engagement pins on the top plate of the pivot tube. Due to clearance​
between the center bolt head and the pivot tube, I.D., 5/8"was max for the pins.​
I cut the 5/8" rod to 2" pieces and welded to the angle.​

The D-Rings were welded to the ends of the angle so the blade can be rotated 180 degrees if desired.​

This is how the bracket will sit on the pivot. When assembled, the large black washer under the bolt will be removed.​

If something bends, I'll know where to reinforce the setup. A possible reinforcement would be a 1/4" x 2" flat stock cut, bent and bolted to both the blade and the bracket on each end.


I'll add more pictures when finally assembled.

I added an 8", 5th wheel UHMW polyethylene plate between the angle and the orange frame to give the angle something to glide against. I did have to shorten the center tabs on the plate to keep it larger than the pivot tube. This plate allows the orange frame to support the center bolt like the large black washer did originally.

A pin end on each end allows me to fully rotate the blade for plowing in either direction.

After I got it this far, I have already determined the angle is too long. So I'm going to cut the ends off, and shorten the angle around 6" on each side to increase the angling potential and reduce twisting of the angle during use. A cut-off saw and a Lincoln welder with make short work of that change.

I'm very pleased with how the cylinder works and the in cab angling of the blade on the fly will make snow removal so much better this year.

Sure looks good! Once you shorten the 2x2 angle bar I would suggest reinforcing it. I am afraid it will bend if you catch the end of the blade on something. I did a similar mod to my backblade. If I recall I used 3/4" x 2 1/2" flat bar. Being able to angle the blade from in the cab is so sweet.
