I think I will opt for an altimeter to see how high I am, I don't need to know how fast I am going. Seriously, I have a question. I am new to these tractors. The fuse box might have been tampered with. Are there actual regular fuses under the screw on cap? It looks like to me that the previous owner soldered plain wires between the lugs. Is that correct? They don't look like fuses to me. if that is the case, I might have to put an external fuse box on the outside. I will post a picture and maybe someone can tell me what's going on. Bob

I think there were originally 3 fuses. They not as you would imagine, fuses in a glass tube, but pretty much a wire!!

Do a search for fuses and you'll probably find some threads where the old style fuse holder have been modified to use modern fuses.

Now you have gone and done it! Extra gauges and a fuse box modification takes the collector value away from that classic. Now it will be worth hundreds less! Lol

Not to worry, because I only have 1700 into it to date, besides, I love this tractor so much that I will never sell it. I originally bought it for 900. knowing that the first and reverse gear were wiped out. I am waiting for the mainshaft and some transmission gaskets and then it goes back together, but standby, because I might need help with some pictures for the purpose of seeing where all of the parts go. Stupid me, I didn't take pictures of the everything when I took it apart. Might need some help. Bob.

Well, that settles that! I was going to give you a $100 for it but given that you will not sell it,:( now you will have to pay me to hall it away. ;) :p :D

To be fair, I also once said that I would never get married, that didn't work out too well. When I get done with it, a hundred will probably be all that it is worth, so I will keep you in mind. On a serious note, I thought I would show you some pictures of the dirty end of the oil pressure connection and the mechanical temp. gauge hookup. As it turned out, the oil orifice was 1/8 inch pipe thread, so it was easy to tee the fittings out so that I have a gauge and an idiot light. The only place that I could insert the temperature bulb was at the drain, so I removed the drain valve and the threads are 3/8" pipe. The correct adapter was provided with the 3 gauge kit, so the mechanical temp. gauge bulb fits right in there. The company name for the gauges is: Equus, website is: www.iequus.com All that I had to buy was a 1/8 pipe thread tee and a 1/8" nipple for the whole install. Here are some pics. Bob.

I just contacted Westendorf to see how much a loader will be for this L1500, when I get the quote, I will let you know. I just got the quote and they wany 4400.00 for the loader with brackets. That is If I install it myself. This seems kind of high, doesn't it? This tractor would sure look nice with a loader on the front of it. If anyone knows of a better option, let me know. Bob

OK, after trying to fit the instrument panel on the tractor, it wouldn't fit because the mount I made protruded into the space of the fuel tank, but not to worry, I am mounting them in a different place. I didn't realize how much the fuel tank protruded into the space of the panel. Here are some pictures on where I plan to mount the regulator and the fuse box. More pictures will be provided when I finally mount them. Bob.

I have some questions to make..
1) since you fused the lines with the new fuse holders why do you keep the old fuse box?
just connect the cables.
2) the old fuse box is it bolted somewhere or it will jump around under the dash and the tank?
3) how much accurate do you think it will be temp sensor at the drain port.

btw nice job,

On some of the tractors (the B8200 for sure) simply had an inline fuse that is under the dash and reachable without removing anything.
