I needed to have remotes on my L 3000 to be able to pull my new V-rake. Checked with Kubota and they wanted $600 for a kit and then it still would need to be installed.

I did some research on the hydraulics and how they were plumbed and thought I could do it myself much cheaper. For under $300 I have working remotes set up the way I want them to be and even have the push in pull out rear couplers like my M series tractor has. Just thought I would post a few pics and throw the idea out there in case anybody else was thinking of doing the same thing.

Thanks Handy, It sure has been handy to have them on there. I didn't know if it would do it or not but I pulled a 9 ft pull type disc the other day with that little tractor. I cut up two garden spots and made a small food plot for my deer. I was really surprised how well it handled a disc that size. Having the extra hyd hook ups makes that tractor even more usefull to me. That 32hp is a lot cheaper to feed than the 92hp tractor is and in this case it did just as good of a job.

Bulldog,
Just in the interest of completeness it'd be nice if you could post a pic of your connections where you tapped into the hydraulic feed.

Bulldog, great job!

Are you going to fabricate a metal cover for the controls? You can rest your arm on it and also keep your arm off that hydro line when it heats up. I'm guessing the blue rag is a temp fix for that??

Anyway, you did great and it's good to see you make stuff like that.

Hi Traildust,

Your correct on the blue rag. It served as a heat shield for me. I left my friends shop that made all my lines for me with the tractor and as soon as I unloaded off the trailer it was hooked to the rake and off to the field. It's probably going to be a winter project for the perm. guard. I want to make one to serve as arm rest and to protect all the connections also.

Good to hear from you again.

It's good to be back, I didn't miss a forum, I missed these little friendships that come to life out if it.

I'm at work and obviously away from my tractor but if you would like me to I can send you pictures and measurements for the gaurd on mine. That way as your mind is spinning with ideas you can have a peak at something else.

By the way, thanks for sending the laugh a day :D

Hi ETRon,

If you look at the second pic I posted you can see the line leaves the new valve and goes down to the back of the loader control and hooks in there. All that I did is used the factory line going to the loader as the input to the new valve and routed the output back to the loader. The top two lines covered by the custom blue heat shield go the the rear remote couplers.

It really was that simple to install. The valve and three hyd lines was all it took other than fabricating the mounts for the valve and the couplers. I will be more than happy to post some more pics if you want to see things up close.

If anybody needs to get a closer look at it just let me know and I'll get some better pics.

I'm always open to new ideas. When you get time send the pics of yours. Help is always welcome.

Bulldog glad to hear how well your L3000 did pulling that size disk. I just bought a 2001 L3000DT nearly a month ago. It had just over 140 hrs on it when I brought it home.

I've got to get some implements for it. I'm looking forward to putting it to work.

This is my first diesel tractor. I do have a little seat time on my Uncle's 1974 Ford 3000, so I'll probably have some questions now and again. But I'm looking forward to learning all I can.

May the Good Lord keep us safe, and may He give us all many more years to enjoy these orange tractors.

That's pretty slick, thanks for pointing it out to me!
