So as the title states I’m debating on whether to add a new loader to my B7500 that has 1090 hrs on it or buy a bx2360 with fel that has about 350 hrs on it. Nothing wrong with my B I’m just looking for advice/thoughts. The new la272 will cost me $3600 installed and out the door and the Bx will cost around $8500 from a friend. I mainly use mine for mowing and occasional box blade work but I want the loader more for the times that I have needed one and didn’t have it than for everyday use.

Putting a new FEL on your B7500 will make your B7500 worth more on resale, and more than the FEL investment. :D
The B7500 with a FEL has a lot more power than a than a BX and can do more.

Good points wolfman. I guess the really low hrs on the bx had me pause to consider it. I don’t plan on selling mine anytime soon but as you said if I do decide to part with it I could get some of the cost of the fel back at that point.

I bought a B7500 with a loader new back in '02 and it was a fairly capable tractor. It occasionally was a bit light or a few horses short of what I was trying to do.

I checked out the BX series when shopping back then, but never really wanted one. It was too small for comfort. My Grandad passed back in '67, but I can imagine him seeing me sitting on a BX and proclaiming "You look like a frog on a mullein leaf".

Cadman,
Curious, the potential loader purchase is a kubota brand. Will it be SSQA? Is the bucket included in quote? It is a new loader, correct.?

Off- topic:

I've read that a tractor w/o an OEM brand loader takes a hit at resale? Would not bother me if loader were from a reputable mfg.

Curious if others would be put off by non-OEM brand loader?

EDIt: did not see the LA reference in initial read.

Major - yes it’s a new Kubota la272 and includes bucket and controls and will be SSQA. I have looked for a long time for a used one near me and haven’t had any luck at all. The local dealer quoted me roughly $3600 out the door.

Chim - Lol your grandfather reminds me of my own grandfather. I have to agree with the statement too. It just seems more like a big mower after sitting on it and taking it for a spin. My B has done most everything I’ve asked it to thus far and it’s not like I’m taking care of a large farm or making a living with the tractor either. It handles my 5 acres and with the addition of the FEL I can only see it becoming more capable. You guys have me leaning solidly towards the FEL.
