A small mistake, a small scare....

I worked at a golf course for a bit. One of the "cart boys" was out getting members clubs out and moving some of the carts around. Well, naturally, while driving a golf cart your left leg often hangs outside of the cart. He was driving one of the convertibles around when his toe caught the ground and got sucked under the tire. Basically I looked out the window just in time to see a cart run over the very person driving it...
It's ok, besides some grass stains he was alright.

Good thing it wasn't a rock or stone, could have done way worse than knock you out cold. Was there a chain skirt across the front of the mower housing? Those are for preventing exactly this.

Nope, no chains until after that day. I made a deflector with some 1/4" plate that went farther under the 3-point, but didn't interfere with anything and added it. The old man wasn't very happy about it, but he wasn't the one that got whacked in the back of the head, either. He said I shouldn't have hit the knot. Umm, I'm guessing he never got hit that hard. Sometimes it's good to be lucky, but lucky I ain't.
