Knew nothing about it except what is visible. Freeze plug missing on right side of block behind hyd. pump, exhaust flapper missing, oil pan cracked, been setting for "a while", had to pull start it when last used.

So only can guess, it overheated, they added water and let it be through the winter. Popped the freeze plug, water came in through the exhaust... who knows about the head, block, water pump, clutch.....

Nothing like a challenge.

Here's what I know so far. Water pump nearly seized. Head has been magnafluxed and has no cracks. Valves been ground and head ready to bolt on. Cylinders showed superficial crud. No rust. Cleaned up nice. Removed hyd pump and installed freeze plug. New water pump installed. Radiator packed with chaff and dirt. Radiator in excellent condition, just packed so air can't pass through. Cleaned nicely. Fan belt was something found that "kinda" fit. Upper radiator hose was modified from one at auto parts store which was cut off and kinked to tight, causing a flow restriction.

Here's some pictures.

Couple more pictures. The water pump had a glob of snotty slime at the bottom. Maybe the PO added a magic potion to fix the problems!

That picture with the fluid oozing out of the base of the muffler is a concoction of ATF and Acetone,50-50 mix. I put that in the muffler right away, figuring if water was in there this might loosen thing up.

Looking good D2Cat! Glad to see it coming back to life!

"The water pump had a glob of snotty slime at the bottom." - I thought you just spit your gum out! - or someone placed some epoxy in there for some wild reason!!!

You are doing nice work! - YOU too have to come to those KA meetings!!! (I aint touched mine in a while, the one that needs ALL the TLC!)

Keep the pictures coming too!

Good on ya.

Never ceases to amaze me how people will spend thousands of dollars on equipment and then beat the crap out of it and park it under a tree.

You'll have a sweet little machine when you're done fixing her up. Very nice!

Bill, it an L2050.

85Hokie, you think I need to come to the KA meetings. I've got too much work to do to have time to attend. You ought to see the two setting in my garage. I got to sashay sideways to get a socket!!

I'm working on this one outside. I cover it with a propane cooker cover, then a folded over canvas tarp. Portable shop!!

Probably going back up to Coleman's today to get some more parts. That blue Kubota paint is like finding hen's teeth around here. Easier to just quit looking and go to the dealer (and buy some extra!).

Oh, I took the injectors to the Turbo and Diesel Shop and had them checked out. Spray pattern fine, Pop off pressure fine, just a tad dirty. He said to use an additive and run them for a while and they'd be fine.
