Me working at my desk with all the rain we are getting.

At 1219 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Some of the Interstates have been closed due to all the flooding. Nashville, IL has a dam that is being overtopped and the area being evacuated due to possible failure.

Talked to our neighbor at the farm and his rain gauge showed that they had just over 7 inches of rain yesterday.

Lots of localized flooding yesterday.

I was just reading the news and noticed the article below where two people were killed from the flooding. This is a little over 15 minutes away from our farm.

Husband and wife found dead in Jersey County after being swept away by flood waters

A married couple was killed after their vehicle became submerged in flood waters in Jersey County late Tuesday morning.

That is a sad news article. When caught in water, like that, one quickly realizes we are helpless against nature.
