A Grill Guard - Tie Rod Question...

There seem to be a fair number of grill guard threads here. I've not seen a design that extends down far enough to provide a degree of protection to the tie rod. Is there some down side to doing that?

(Somehow, I managed to bend the tie rod on my old B7100 while doing some stupid thing in the woods, so it's top of mind for me...)

Tractors don’t make good bulldozers …. but that’s often how they’re utilized. A separate guard for them might be easier.

Hmmmm......

I think that the distance it would have to extend from the grill guard would be problematic on my tractor.

But possibly something that extends from something like my "homemade tie down" plate might be doable.

I haven't bent one....yet. (but it's a distinct possibility.lol)

Looking at this pic, it would be easy to picture "wings" that protect the tie rod, However I think they would be too long and bend fairly easily......

Added bumper to help protect front axle. 3x6x24” tube. 1” D-ring for low point attachment.
