900X turbo install. Has anyone done one?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there has installed a turbo on an 900X . My model is a 2017 and I would like more power for hill climbing, as well our altitude is 3500 ft so a turbo would help.

I wonder if the rest of the machine, hyd pumps, transmission final drives, cooling system will handle the extra power. The turbo model should be around 32 HP vrs 22HP stock.
The 1140 model has a 1.1 liter engine and is rated at 25 HP, all other components are the same as the 900X, so we know it can take that much HP.

Any ideas on this is appreciated.

Mike I saw this and that's what started my thinking. I looking for real world experience from some one who has done it, example any mechanical failures or operational issues such as over heating.

I personally don’t know anyone, or have read about anyone installing one of these kits.
However, if it were me, I’d reach out to the manufacturer and see if they can put you into contact with a customer or point you towards some reviews of their kit on a 900x.

My L2501 is turbocharged, I haven’t experienced any issues with over heating…and all other members here, who have also turbocharged their tractors, have not experienced any over heating issues.

I boiled, not over heated my turbo intercooled L185 once mowing 4 to 5 feet tall green tumble weeds with my 48 inch brush shredder, but I was running straight water in the cooling system. Added about 20% to 25% coolant now it's good.
Also the L185 doesn't have a coolant pump, coolant circulation is provided by convection only.

I've done two X1100's. Ain't worth the money unless you're at high (10,000 ft+) altitude. Very disappointing. It does work and does make ever so slightly more power but don't expect a daylight-and-dark power increase like they advertise.

Thanks, this is the type of real-world experience I was looking for. From what the turbo suppliers say the performance would 35-50 % better.
I'll keep the $3000 in my pocket.

ATV turbo kits work great but you need to do a lot of other work with the hydro pressure reliefs, manual throttle and fueling. The net result is that if you wanted that you should have gotten a gas powered atv to begin with.

I agree with this. I am at 9000ft and ran my X1100C non-turbo for 2 years, then got a turbo installed.

The turbo is NOT night and day power/speed difference. The sluggishness of the X1100 is just the HST...they arent designed to zip around. However once warmed up I do notice it being improved up hills...just not a massive improvement.

However, there is a night and day difference in starting. It cranks right up now...and before It took me minutes to get it started.

Overall glad I got it done, but its not a huge change I agree.
