I have a 200' x 100' field that I want to level perfectly flat. It's already close to flat, but I want it even flatter. I have B2910 HST and a 5' box blade. I want to buy a landscape rake with the thinking that I can get the larger mounds and holes with the box blade and then smooth things out more finely with a landscape rake.

I was thinking of a 6' rake, but a deal just came up on an 8' rake that looks to be in good condition for the price (no gauge wheels though). Is this too big of a rake for my B2910 and the project? And is there a flaw in my plan (i.e. - is this the wrong tool)?

Thanks in advance.

I have a B3030 & have a 84 inch LandPride rake it's about all I want in heavy going.
But you could purchase it & loop 6 inchs off each end

I do not think that the 8 foot rake with no gauge wheels will do what you want. Most likely the front end will get pretty light and the whoop de doos will spread out as the wheel base of the tractor is so short. I have been looking at a drag behind land leveler like this:https://idigtexas.com/product/land-leveler-tow-behind/ I am using this as an example only. Very much like a box blade but the whoop de doos would be minimized since the tractor and the blade will flex independently. I have even talked to a fab shop about turning my box blade into one of these. Check out some youtubes. on the land levelers.

I was able to run across a spreader bar from a crane https://www.uscargocontrol.com/Dura...ixZIrY4dQknB2Is_0Z7aXgHD3Y3hOopwaAspoEALw_wcB that does an excellent job of make the ground flat. I use a drag type disk to soften the area and then drag this 12 foot I-beam to make it flat. It has worked very nicely for me.

You probably want a land leveler for land leveling work.

I run a GS1560 behind my 2710. It’s the bees knees.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I wasn't aware of a land lever. It looks like that could be the way to go. I'll keep an eye out for a deal.

I also have a B2910.

What size land plane/leveler would be recommended for this size tractor?

I assume 8 foot might be too much, but do not have a clue...

6 foot would be a good size for a B. ;)
