I have a 5 foot brush hog on a 2008 L3400 Kubota Tractor. I want to upgrade to a 8 foot mower to decrease my mowing time. Can the L3400 do the job with a 35 hp motor, 30hp PTO?

Any advice or comments are greatly appreciated!

I'm no expert.....but the ol' rule of thumb is 1' = 5 HP @ PTO........

so in your case 6' er will be about the top of the scale! :)

AND I am not sure you could lift it off the ground to get it to and from!;)

Simple answer like others have said, NO.
You'll just be wasting your money!

Others are correct. I have the same tractor as you just 3 more hp and it is rated for 6’ bush hog and 7’ finish mower max

Not a chance.

Much too large and heavy.

Nothing larger than a rather light weight 6' and that will be too big in some conditions.

This is a far more practical way to decrease mowing time on large flat areas. Your could add one to each side of your existing mower.

Does it need to be a brush hog or can you settle for a finish mower? As Sammy inferred, finish mowers are lighter than brush hogs and they don't need as much HP. On the down side, a finish mower is only good for grass.
